I did that in reverse! Gave the Britons, Romano-British units (and some Pontus phalanx and sword ones from a mod) to make an almost Fantasy/Legendary style British force in Rome. It's fun.

The Mercs taking the profits, is that only on Barbarian and when you sack? Cos I've never noticed it on Rome where there is no sacking? And does having them in a separate army prevent it or does just having them somewhere mean they still take it even if they weren't involved in that battle?

The issue is you keep single clicking rather than double so they start walking when you want them to run! lol. 🤦 And once their general was engaged and in that mess with your infantry, you might as well have hit him from both sides with the sarmatians and your general (with the horn of destiny blowing). Basically what you did, just a lot sooner... Wouldn't it have made more sense to occupy the Saxon city and retrain your men? It had the barracks level necessary didn't it? Edit: Seeing all the enemies you made gang up on you in the Alps, it does indeed look like what you should have done, lol.

Yup... Though if the Ostrogoth campaign is anything to go by, the horde campaign will be a wild ride... however long it lasts.

Taking the meaning Total War to a whole new level 😂 Also, now we know how the poor Ai hordes feel, when they wander around aimlessly, constantly losing men and being bullied by everyone , till only some old general survives :')

I don't think you could have had peace with hordes even with a diplomate, I find it hard to make peace with a faction you are at war with, unless they come and ask you
