Its definition is to allow the spouse to maintain her existing lifestyle. In other words, Clay was forced to pay his wife so she can have sex with other men. To rub salt in his wound, Clay was forbidden to see two of his biological children. I wonder if the courts secretly monitor these types of situations to see how long before violence is initiated?

I can only speculate as to how high the level of policing incompetence may be in this situation like this. Here's what I think, the incompetence was very high. As to Clay's innocence, I think he's guilty beyond a reasonable doubt, but a much more professional and conclusive investigation should have been performed.

These reasonable doubts that you think are there I wonder why the defense attorneys didn't make them? Do you think that's incompetence and the defense attorneys were engaged in malpractice or what? I don't know if you've ever been on a jury but what goes on in jury deliberations is markedly different from what gets reported publicly. I looked into it, more than I should have, and it's not clear that the woman was having sex with many men, that's a claim made by Clay's defence. It looked to me, she was trying to find another partner, and to do that , she was dating several men to find the right one. Some of her dates said that they never had sex with her, it was just a date. The sex toys appear to have been planted by whoever tortured and murdered Chanin, they were used to humiliate the victem. Some time prior to the murder, a bag of dildos was left at Chanin's door, no proof who did it, but Chanin knew it was Clay (she should have invested in a secrity camera system). Apparently she feared Clay and told people close to her that she suspected he was breaking into her home and stealing things. Clay says that everyone who testified that he was feared by Chanin and stalking her are liars. There's two sides to a story, and Dr Grande left out a lot of damning details. Go to Clay's innoncence FB page, it's as if Chanin never even existed, it's 100% all about Clay. If my wife was brutally killed, even if I devorced and wrongfully convincted, my remaining years would be dedicated with finding the real killer. @atlasveldine63146 ай бұрын
There's so many things wrong with this case. The ex certainly could have done it, but, it just as easily can be explained as another one of her 10 (known) partners realizing he wasn't the only one, or even just killing her for fun and staging it to point to the ex. I don't know enough of the details to judge - and neither did the court nor jury.
@deecarter1476 ай бұрын
I wondered about the son too. I can't imagine how her children felt and feel, having to hear of their mother's "behavior". How awful and scarring that must be. Also, the father had so many other ways to deal with this situation. He could have petitioned the court for a freeze on the child support if he was legit ill/injured/out of work. That would have kept the amount from climbing to an insane amount. He also could have gotten an attorney to challenge the massive amount. Thirdly, he could have easily had the mother declared unfit and he would most likely would have been awarded sole custody, if ha had wanted the kids. This is so tragic.

Oh yeah...family court is all about helping out the father, especially in matters of child support and custody.

He had so many ways to deal with it…after seeing how they fleeced him the first time. It was $2,500 to get a lawyer to file that paper work 20 years ago. He was broke and disabled, taking care of 2/5 of the kids…people just don’t pay attention to the world around them. I went through that…they do not freeze child support. It becomes arrears, for men anyway. The courts assume you are faking and just pile on the penalties even more if you try that. They did to me several times. The state of California and a licensed MD put it in writing I was disabled. The judge just said too bad. I’ve seen it over and over and over….even when she got into meth and dumped my son on my porch, I had to pay support for three more months. The judge lied and said there was nothing that could be done. They leaned over backwards for her over and over and even with sworn statements from female coworkers and friends they let her do 2 no shows in court, and still “took the matter under consideration”. When I missed one court date out of about 20, I was 15 minutes late, they instituted her requests and sanctioned me. They wouldn’t order her to pay support for 2 more years, and when she wouldn’t pay for another 3 years they never suspended her drivers license. They suspended mine 5 times when I was ACTUALLY PAYING AS ORDERED, twice out of disability (it was garnished by the court). There response when I took the day off work the other three times? “Whoops! Sorry Mr Bowen. Your license will be released after paying this $30 release fee and another $15 to the DMV for reinstatement”. Don’t tell me about options.

My ex wife was on meth, there was proof, and she was never deemed unfit. I wonder if some of this ones male visitors were cops…or judges….easily?!? $2,500 and up for a lawyer to go into court. They basically never find a mother unfit. I’ve seen cases where the mom was on heroin, and that didn’t get her declared unfit. Sometimes even with multiple events involving the police finding the kids alone and unsupervised. They will do ANYTHING to protect a woman, almost no matter what she does.

I just watched a long documentary about this case, and she didn't sleep with all these men. She dated a normal amount of people, most of them meeting them for a coffee, dinner. With a few of them she went further. Her ex (the murderer) went on a real smear campaign against her, and he was really jealous - which is why she ended up dead. Sad to see the label he put out there destroyed her reputation like this, especially since she is no longer here to defend herself.

@@missJolie85 can you provide the link to the doc?? my take away from this is it was the bills he had to pay while she was out on the town collecting dna. Money makes people do crazy things.

Moral of the case, human jealousy is a powerful weapon and motivation for good or bad intentions. Especially, in relationships and marriages. Some people can handle it betters than others while others can't. This something I have to keep telling myself, though.
