47:34 They are called elite archers because they have spears as secondary weapons, and a very good melee attack/defence for being archers. It doesn't do much, but they're one of the very few archers who can hold their ground if charged by light cavalry/horseskirmishers/horsearchers. I bet they perform extremely well in auto-resolve btw ;)

Hello from futrue, just wanted to add that if you put them on gaurd mode or let the enemy charge at them the front of the unit starts to use spears while the guys in the back still shoot arrows. It may not seem powerfull but that shit gets lots of kills because it doesnt allow enemy to use melee attack, they die before they can actually attack.

The cinematics for most of these later total war games is shit. Plays as Eastern Faction: Roman cinematic. Plays as Barbarian Faction: Roman cinematic. Rome and Medieval 2 are practically the only games with relevant introductions.

Legend when you want to play a campaign it kinda like shines through the video and it makes us enjoy it a bit more. Although yes the challenges you have done are pretty fucking sick and honestly GG for them but I genuinely like this new direction you have taken where you actually enjoy what you are doing. fuck the shit AI in this game

What really bothers is how monotonous and uncreative they are. What I said is, I don't have a problem with take some freedom in historicy, but the lack of diversity in the cinematics is atrocious. ONE SAME INTRO TO ALL THE FACTIONS? The predecessor, Rome 1, have a more entertained introduction than this and they excuses about memory space make me sick.

I would interested in seeing a campaign where you focus on defense by building up the defensive capabilities of your settlements. I don't know how easy or hard this would be or how much attention it would get, but I think it would be cool.

Best defensive is offensive action... edit and I think he got damaged in the head after all ATW AI stupid attacks and played defensive non-stop in his crazy runs...

I played parthia a lot and even though historically they had the best horse archers and should be in the game so strong with it but games sometimes aren't like history So the best thing as parthia is that you rush infantry and parthia swordsmen and make your composition of 1 general ( Heavy Persian Cataphracts) 6 parthia swords men 1 Persian archers And attack parthava then I did this I totally wiped all of Greek clients and Persians in Persia in like no time and you can later increase this composition like 8 parthia sword men and 2 archers and then 10 parthia sword men and 3 archers The end game is when you face the Romans and here your infantry won't do shit so you need to go full Persian with at least 2 heavy Cataphracts and I guarantee you will wipe rome in no time

I find Rome 2 campaigns a bit boring to see, i'd rather play myself. On the other hand, older tw games like Rome 1 and Medieval 2 are much more enjoyable to watch, but for some reasons i don't get to play them anymore. Well, probably it's because it's hard to make them work properly on Win10.

Pretty damn stupid that the opening cutscene for this campaign was just the normal Roman cutscene... CA put so little actual effort into Rome 2, it just feels so pathetic. By far, the most disappointing Total War game I've ever played.

Cnupoc I played shogun 2 to death now and years ago played a bit of Rome 1. Should I get Rome 2? I played Attila and I didnt really like it mostly due to the time period and warhammer because it is fantasy. Rome 2 is it that bad?

they ruined this game title... fucking tech trees... heroes... the UI *SUCKS*... compare this UI to the papirus/paper type of UI that was user friendly which you had in Rome 1... This is a waste of time and money... the first Roome total war had such a wonderful concept. And medieval as well. loved those titles. Still play them btw. But not Rome 2. I can't believe the management said OK, when the project was being decided on. Graphic wise - looks great, but extremely demanding for a 2013 game.

There is a reason carthage was one of the most powerful in ancient times. The three big bread baskets at that time were the crimea, egypt and carthage. Europe was no were near to that production
