I *think* you might have seen a spike in viewers doing Rome 1 because if you play a good game, enjoy doing the battles, actually fight the battles as opposed to auto-resolve, it makes SO much of a difference. We're all here for the fights really. Great format doing 1)live 2)choosing faction live 3)so many battles. Actually feels fresh which is no mean feat for a 20yr old game

Your incredible commentary always kept me entertained and subsequently greatly improved my game sense in all the total wars. I'm now having the most fun I've ever had playing any total war game. Anyone else get really crap performance on windows 10? Is there a fix for that? I really would like to keep playing this game but the performance makes it near unbearable despite me having a mid to higher end machine which should easily run this game even with huge armies

Long time Rome 1 player and to this day think its the best one (others do some things better but not as a whole for me) Why the hate for pikemen or phalanx formation? I get you like to play aggressively but having one or two around to help lockdown and hold the lines while the rest of your units do their thing. I found especially in hardest difficulty they wont break as fast as most because they have that little range, playing a roman faction I get super excited when I can hire a phalanx unit.

Their pathfinding inside settlements is disgusting. There are two ways to get around it: first, getting them set up a good distance away from the action so they have enough time to finish their stupid twirl dance and get into formation before the enemy makes contact. Second, you spam the phalanx mode button and the stop button a few times. Using hotkeys is better for this. When they commence the phalanx twirl dance, hit backspace multiple times to make them stop, then hit F once to turn them off phalanx mode, hit backspace again, hit F again, hit backspace again. That gets them organised quite quickly depending on your speed with the keystrokes. Both of these ways require a bit of patience though, which is not a virtue Legend has. He is after all the short-tempered, foul-mouthed Australian; patience isn't in his Total War playbook.

Gotta agree with you on Lord of The Rings... apart from part 2 the first and the last are hugely overrated. Deus Ex Machina and just boring adventure. As a kid I liked them too very much. Now, all sorts of problems with these movies came to mind.
