A few different speeches thrown together. Since i couldn't find a video with the lines i enjoyed on youtube i made my own...missed an epic one though "And remember this above all. Our Roman gods are watching make sure they are not ashamed!"....Sorry about the little black screen in the middle of the video haven't made to many vid'z yet i'll get better..

Its really awesome how the things on the campaign map influence this. If a general lost a battle to the gauls for example next time he do battle with them he will say that he lost to them once and wont do it again.

Haha In my Julii Campaign, I conquered almost all of yhe barbarian areas with my general Decius Julius, who got 10 command stars and eventually became my faction leader. I somewhat became attached to him, then he died in battle at like 76 years old. Saddest moment of my video game life.

I once had a Roman army that had broken off from the family member to deal with a small village and they got assaulted by two Carthagian armies at the same time, both larger than them. I repelled one and then, with great difficulty, fought off the second. Once the second one had broken, my men split off and pursued, making sure as few Carthagians as possible escaped with their lives. And the captain of that Roman army became Man of the Hour and a family member so I set him as governor over Alesia once I had moved him up into Gaulia.

Kris Norge bro, i had that one captain take out entire armies just so i can get him to be a man of the hour. I never tried so hard. They had 3 gold chevrons. Sonetimes winning battles that your not suppose to win, which i did plenty of times, doesn't work..

+Michael Sanders about a year late but I think it also depends on how many family members you have. If you have a crap ton of males in your family then your family will be less likely to adopt a captain.

Angel Canseco I think the game tries to stay at a rate of one family member per settlement you have. When you lose family members, new ones crop up or men of the hour are picked

I prefer the Barbarian General Speeches, and the Victory music after the battle. ( you can get it in Rome 2 with a mod) And the Eastern General when he says' The enemy general runs, perhaps back to the laps of his concubines. :) or that time you rout Roman Faction leader bodyguard with Carthaginian Faction Leader Bodyguard '... The Roman Eagle(/Leader) is a Roman Chicken, fleeing the cooks cleaver..'

Bad thing is, only Roman factions have wide variety of different pre-battle speech. The other factions do not have speech as many as Romans. "They think their wall's enough to stop us? They should think again."
