Being handy is such a blessing! My husband and I have owned our house for 4 years and we’ve never had to call anyone out to fix anything. We’ve fixed the water heater, clogged plumbing, the ac, the washer and dryer… The list goes on an on! Google is the best 🤣

Google is a godsend and KZbin is amazing! I'm older so my first few houses were pre-internet. It was all fly by the seat of your pants or wait for the library and/or hardware store to open if you couldn't figure it out. Smaller, locally owned hardware stores were (and still are) the best - they actually knew what they were talking about and gave great advice and instructions. My husband was ZERO help on any of it - he had to ask which way to turn the screwdriver every. single. time. 😂

Being a pool owner myself, one piece of advice I can give you is to get a pool cover ( preferably one with pool bolts so you can prevent leaves and other debris from getting into the pool). For winter always lower the water to about 3/4 of the pool height. It’s better to winterize it every year for maintenance. Hope this helps!

To drain your pool, set the pump to backwash. Drain your pool a couple of inches and set the pump back to filter. For the moss, use white vinegar in a spray bottle. Did you get a home warranty when you purchased the house, If not ask the realtor if it was offered. American Home shield or First American among others offer home warranty that covers pools, appliances, roof leaks and many other options. We just had a dryer go out and the policy covered it all we paid was 75.00. Might find it beneficial to have a warranty that covers pools and pump they covered all parts after the freeze so it only cost 75.00 for a 4500 repair.

everytime I watch your content, I smile and say "I just love her!" The pool is green because you have alge on the sides of the walls, they need to be brushed daily to avoid this and PH levels need to be cheked reguraly. You may need to shock the pool with chemicals weekly to stay on top of this, also ensure your skimer baskets are clear of debris. You can buy a mini auto sweeper that plugs into the air jet in the pool, this makes it run round the bottom and sides of the pool like a rumba, I call mine pool boy hes a life saver, he doesnt like cleaning stairs though. You will love having a pool, lots of work and a bit expensive ( I live in a colder climate) but you will find everyone will gather at your home for BBQ and pool time, so much fun! Hi MaCenna love the new house. Idk why but I’m my head I see the down stairs bedroom being an office. Hear me out lol it’s the only downstairs restroom so guest would have to go threw your bedroom to use it. Plus when Romeo is bring In merchandise for his business he’s going to have to carry everything upstairs. Then when the baby comes lol if you all slept upstairs it would be easy to be right next to the babies room. So the whole upstairs would be your own part of the house. Just a thought I do see why you choose to the rooms you did well thanks so sharing

This is just a random thought, but another way to interact with your community, other than your community tab for announcements and updates (and your insta), is creating a Discord! You can ask questions to your own custom server of community members! I know a few other DIY home renovation, but also vlog style content channels that have it and its very interactive, but you can customize to the interaction you want! you can make a q&a tab where people can ask questions but you can get your opinions and questions answered basically right away instead of reading comments on a video after its posted! Look into it, but i think a lot of people would be interested! Love your content, keep it up!

And I can never, ever, find scissors!! Just wanted to say, thank you!! Love you guys!!

Our pool area was really dirty after a hurricane, I used a power washer to clean it. So much easier! And if space isn’t a problem, google how to hang long dresses, it’s great!

As I am thinking about the layout, I would let the “bedroom” be a Romeos office cause the skylight above the desk and washer and dryer for his clothes to be handy.. than make the moms bedroom the primary bedroom and let the Romeos office be guest bedroom/nursery:)

Good job MaCenna!!! Maybe that bedroom could be Romeo's office....and upstairs could be your master. also you said there was no bathroom for guests on main floor...so if Romeo's office is where you've put the master, your guests will have a bathroom on the main floor! Right? The bathroom off of the now master!

only 2 min in so not sure if you figured out the pool problem yet but! to lower the water you need to "backwash it" you do that from the filter near all the equipment. Also its green when it rains because the rain water unbalances the alkalinity and pH so once you add chlorine etc it turns clear again! hope that helps!

Came to say get a sump pump (submersible pump). You can hook it up to the hose. I would def ask the pool guys as I’m sure they’ll recommend something, but that’s what I got / was recommended for my swimspa when it has to be drained. Also check on where to drain - we drain to the sewer clean out as that’s also what’s recommended by our city water so water isn’t wasted. Check on your local water regulations as well. They may or may not recommend that depending on the fact it’s pool water. *Also, did your sellers / realtor include a home warranty? I’m so thankful we have one because there were so many times I had to have someone come out here especially with a older home. Covers appliances, pool, etc etc depending what options you get and from whom.

My husband and I have American Home Shield, we love it! If the HVAC, wash/Dry machines, microwave, etc goes out we pay a small fee for someone to come fix it and if they can't they will replace the machine! We've used it already on our water heater, washing machine, and dish washer.... not because my husband couldn't fix it, but some of the issues were only detected by a plumber's device. So sometimes there's things you cannot fix
