The 8 out of ten cats does countdown clips titles are usually based on the last clip in the video. It's so people are more likely to watch until the end to see what they clicked for.

Regular countdown is one of the longest running gameshows in the world. Its on during the daytime on week days so its audience is mainly retired people. Its the same as this but without the jokes and segments and instead just the word and number games where the contestants are usually very smart people. They are competing mainly for fun and for the ability to say theyve won as the prize is just a clock with countdown written on it (which is why they always have weird joke prizes on this version). A few years ago Channel4 did an event where they got a selection of their most popular shows and mixed up all the presenters. 8 out of 10 cats was given countdown as the show they would takeover for the day. It aired and was a HUGE hit. Like absolutely massive hit. So they decided to make it a full show and has been going for many years now and is actually now more well known than the original 8 out of 10 cats.

You could watch a full regular Countdown episode for more context on the rules, they're kind of difficult to explain through a comment. It is a show mainly for the elderly, they show it like mid-afternoon in the week so only pensioners and the unemployed really get to watch it. It's not a thrilling show but it's not terrible, they usually have comedians or celebrities on to tell anecdotes and you might learn some interesting words along the way.

Alan Carr's father would turn in his grave at that nipple joke LOL. Graham Carr was the manager of Northampton Town FC when Alan was young and he wanted his son to be macho and follow in his footsteps as a footballer (soccer player), forcing him to go training with the junior players at one point. By Alan's own admission, when he found out his son was effeminite, Carr Snr. wasn't too happy. Later on, His dad became manager of my home town club, Maidstone United. Carr proved to be a terrible manager and ended up getting the sack. Some time after this Alan did a gig in the town and got heckled and no laughs, following which he said Maidstone was a terrible place that he'd never return to. The last time I saw his face in the town was on the front of his autobiography, which a local book store was practically giving away in a deal because nobody was buying it. It would be fair to say his general popularity isn't shared in my local area!

Yeah 8 out of 10 cats and Countdown are two completely separate shows that were randomly put together for charity one year and only originally for one night. It’s now done 19 seasons as it was an immediate success.

You should do more Taskmaster! But "Full Task" clips as opposed to "Best of" a particular comedian. A lot of the humor comes from how the different contestants' approaches compare to each other.

If you do watch a full episode, make sure its "8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown" and not just "Countdown". The normal version is quite dry but the Jimmy Carr version is the same thing but with comedians. Also if you ever watched Deadpool 2, at 1:22 that's Peter, the one ordinary guy that joins Deadpools X Force. He's an American comedian that lives in London.

8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown was the best thing to come out of Channel 4s 'Twisted Friday' (show casts switched programs for a day). This switch-up was SO funny they gave it its own series 😆 Regular Countdown is the sort of program you would have to sit and watch with your nan at 4 afternoon. Its been on for like 30 years. You should check out the best of Roisin Conaty on Cats does Countdown. She cracks me up and does so badly 🤣

The full length programme is around 45 min I think,you need to watch a full episode,, it’s like a piss take spoof of the original ( daytime mild half hour words and numbers game without adult content very serious ) , the original numbers girl was carol vauderman ( often referred to in this version usually as a piss take) most of the guest comedians are pretty good in their own right , my favs are lee Mac ,Sean Locke, jimmy carr, Johnny Vegas, steven mangan ( check out green wing,one of the best most original British comedies ever made , unfortunately went a bit under the radar ) also check out some of the previously mentioned in their stand up format. I praise you for even trying to understand our humour when a lot is referential from a very long comedic past ( check out Shakespeare he had a few good one liners) you have already a heads up historically from watching the great Baird ( baldrik) from blackadder.🤪.

The rules are fairly simple, they have to make the longest word possible with the letters and with the numbers they have to get as near to the number they are given with the numbers that were selected. Up to you if you want to watch an episode of countdown but maybe watch it in your own time rather make it a reaction as it won't be that entertaining.

You are correct, but with the numbers they can only use a number once, they dont have to use all of them, and can only use + - x =, no other calculations, if they cannot get the number then whoeve is closest wins if they can prove their workings 😊

Its just if you watch them to often its reused clips, you will usually find people complaining about such things on there youtube channel.
