Omd some people seem to think the world revolves around the US. Just because somethings not big over there it doesn’t mean it’s not extremely famous worldwide. Like cricket, it’s literally watched by and played by billions of people, 2nd biggest sport worldwide but more Americans would probably think you were joking if you told them that, just because it’s not big over there. Same for stuff like rugby and football, biggest sport in the world (although in fairness it’s still kinda popular in the US in comparison to some other sports).
