I love that people still get frustrated with Earl on this year of our lord, 16 years after this show. Radio gold.

Earl this is madness
@oneskinnyhonky4 жыл бұрын
The caller at 12:21 nailed it: Earl thinks that it's unreasonable to expect anything above the bare minimum from him. He thinks that as long as he attempts the task, he should be given his gold star with no hassle; when given criticism, he deflects it with his own opinion (as if anyone asked for it) so he can insulate himself from making any kind of improvement. Long story short: 🚧🛑🚧 👷♂️ "Here comes the Faildozer!"
@jamesd.69793 жыл бұрын
Spot on. The other thing that infuriates me is his persecution complex. He always cries about how people ask him questions over and over but never give him a chance to finish answering. What he doesn't understand is people only cut him off when he answers with blatant lies. If he would just tell the truth, people wouldn't be asking him the same questions over and over to begin with. He thinks everyone should just accept his nonsensical lies, he feels personally victimized when he gets called out for not telling the truth. He's so emotionally immature. "OK Fine, I'm wrong then. It's my fault. I'm always wrong." Once he's backed into a corner and he has no choice but to admit that he's lying or that he made a mistake, he starts throwing/breaking studio equipment like a toddler having a temper tantrum. He's like 50 years old now and he still acts EXACTLY the same way. I've never seen someone change so little over the course of 15 years, it's astonishing.

The best is when Ron actually silences the room and gives Earl a chance to finish but he has absolutely NOTHING to substantiate whatever ridiculous lie he's currently peddling.
@AirBuddDwyer2 жыл бұрын
@@terrortwylight419 To be fair, often times in general people make a big show of giving you an opportunity to make your point if you mention they keep cutting you off in an argument, but in reality they way they go about doing it is with a deliberate hostility that's intended to try to put passive aggressive pressure on the person who was being cut off. And what usually winds up happening is that contextual pressure makes the person who finally has time to make their point hesitate for a split-second to try to collect themselves in the moment, (usually accompanied by something like an "umm, well..." while collecting their thoughts) at which point the person who made the big passive aggressive gesture of "letting" the other person make their point immediately jumps all over them and goes "see, I told you didn't have a point!!!" It's an extremely effective (though intellectually dishonest) framing tool, and most people who actually do have a solid point still fall victim to it. All that being said, this is Earl, and none of what I just tried to outline applies to him specifically because he genuinely never has a coherent point to begin with, not to mention whatever he's babbling about is typically interspersed with lies, and he often yells "let me finish!!!" even when no one's cutting him off. The only thing I agreed on him with this was that the New Wave rejoiner/bumper clip was perfectly solid and they were claiming it sucked just because they were all having so much fun at that point shitting on Earl that they all agreed tacitly to pretend that it sucked.

@Brendon Kennedy No he lucked out, or in a past life was the greatest person ever and god rewarded him by sending him to Ron who wanted a Mr Magoo. He knew what Earl is, and what he was like, and like a guy who hears his favorite band/music for the first time, said “This. This is meant for me” and knew he’d struck gold. Like Ron said, he knew eventually he’d be gone but no one anywhere thought he’d quit.
@mistersippi29453 жыл бұрын
Fez was truly a force to be reckoned with according to some of the funniest people in existence. He was an ace on promos, on air things, bumpers, production, set ups, comebacks etc. This is like when you see a villain in a show that’s just the worst, but they flashback to how amazing and loved he was so you can wonder “what happened to him”?

The New Wave/40s mashup would have worked much better now, with the retro synth-music that's currently popular. Earl was ahead of his time. The Paul O bit was very uncomfortable to listen to and it just kept going. A highlight of Earl's production failure. The introduction to it starts at 18:57 if anyone wants to jump right to it.
