I know that these episodes struggle, but man do I love them. Thank you for shining a light on creators and giving us some insight behind the scenes of books and characters that we love.

A very engaging episode. In a way, Sal and Ron seem to be on the opposite side of spectrum, where Ron sees the positives first and wants to build upon that, Sal sees the negatives first and wants to fix that asap. Yet, they are both on the same side in the fact that they love comics.

The reason why I know who Ron Marz is, aside from his amazing work itself, is because of ComicPop. Because of the channel I’ve been going down a Ron Marz rabbit hole and it looks like I’m not turning back anytime soon.

Thank you, Ron Marz! I watch a lot of ComicPop and it was great to see Sal talk in-depth with a creator that he has praised and umm.. "been critical of". ;) I really appreciated Ron's perspective on the current crisis and on the industry in general - I could feel Sal absorbing everything and growing as a person (and me too). Great work Sal. :) You are really finding your stride with this.

If we get a new DC Marvel crossover I hope we get something with a little depth and character focus, rather than just a shallow team up. I'd also like to see characters interact that we've never seen together before rather than another Spiderman/Batman.

I think Ron's point about the new #1 and Sal's retort was an interesting perspective, mostly because I find Ron is more on point. The whole comparison to the Mandalorian "Do they just recast everyone?" is a very revealing question. That's literally how Doctor Who has & does sustain itself for the past 50 years and yet a show that has been going, more or less consistently for 30 years, The Simpsons, has everyone looking back to the early seasons and not looking forward to the next episode. I feel like comics will always default to one of those two models. Let's use Jason Aaron's Thor and Dan Slott's Spider-Man runs as comparison, both extensive, long, status quo shifting runs but by the time they got to the end people's reactions were different. The Red Goblin story had people ready for a new creative team & by Clone Conspiracy they were already nostalgic for Big Time but after years of build up people were still excited for War of the Realms. What's the difference, well several things, but the big fundamental difference to me is Peter Parker was consistent & Thor Odinson wasn't. Hell Thor was what 6 different people in that run, let alone the character arc of Thor finding his worth. Peter Parker got to be a captain of industry because Doc Ock killed him & possessed his mind (which is also many people's favourite part of the run) other than that he was consistent. All I'm saying to summarize is, in story at least, consistency is boring & boring doesn't sell. Sure the actual number on the book shouldn't matter but frankly it's easier to look for a #1 on a book cover than to know that "new creative team starts at issue #527" with regards to monthly at least.
