The Turtles... read this before you go on a crusade. We didnt expect to see any given the season had passed already ALSO we didnt know that using bright lights 'could' make them walk of course (as they use the moon light to navigate to the water). We did however work this one out ourselves and got the entire group to stand down by the waters edge and kill most of the lights because everyone was getting a bit too excited. There was limited footage due to that fact as we couldnt see much. Some might say we should have known but MATE you can't know everything and it was out of season, we didnt expect to see any. Righto with that out of the way it was an unreal experience none of us had every experienced before. If you are ever in this situation don't use bright lights like we did (we didnt know), also do not pick up touch or help them on there way thats a big no no.

Thats mainly why you should not start a camp fire on a turtle beach bescause they will just come towards you instead heading to the water!! en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ras_al-Jinz

Its actually knot known in Turtles use light for navigation or not. They find the ocean on nights there is no moon. They also nearly always hatch on high tide, giving them the shortest run to the water. Experts think they use a mix of senses for all these things, including sensing the magnetic field of the earth.

Years ago (circa 1984-86) in Darwin we used to go 'down the road' to Casuarina Beach; Rapid Creek (western) end. We'd all walk back across the dune to our FJ55 (two-tone "Bill Peach") wagon, & sit our three kids on the rear doorsill. Then Johnson their feet. Works a treat. :)

Remember, When the sun gets up the fish go down, go deeper water with your lures & troll slower, barb-less hooks are the go and essential piece of safety equipment, squash the hook barbs down flat with pliers before use, much better than driving hours to the nearest district hospital or remote area nurse for hook removal.

If you don't know how to fish just get onto the reef and drop down some squid, fish on either paternoster rig or weightless depending on how deep and current , do your research get the GPS Coords of the reefs and put them into your navigation before the trip.

Plain 4x4 also gets boring. Only so many hills to climb, rocks to go over, and puddles to splash though. I un-subbed from most of the 100% 4x4 as they are boring after a while. You have to mix it up, tell a story, and have your audience come along with you.
