I can understand why. Compared to Sam and REN’s normal performances this actually comes across as being quite flat ( not musically ) and low energy. Normally when these two perform they really cut loose. I’m guessing this is quite an old video because they both seem self conscious and constrained. It’s definitely not one of their stronger performances but it’s pleasant enough.

This is such a joyous song, unique composition. Your right, all over the place, but in the right place. There a 4 versions I've seen of this, busking, live car park with angry security guard (funny as hell), a proper video and this one. Musically, this is my favourite!

It really isn't. This is the most pivotal version of the song that there is. The studio version isn't great as it has too much production, the parking garage version is just a meme of a version to have a laugh at, the busking version is a step below this as far as clarity and performance goes. This particular version is the one that put Ren on the radar of studios for the second time in his life and put the eyes of Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj onto Sam's voice and talent. This is the song that Ren attributes to both of them going from busking to being able to simply make music for a living and this particular version is the version that made that happen. You can certainly have a favorite version of course, but that chances nothing I've stated above.

This was the version I suggested an the right first version of the song to react to. This is the version that elevated both men from busking to getting noticed by studios. A lot of people like to recommend the parking garage one due to it being funny/ironic but it's not a good recording of the song and isn't what they were trying to get across in music form. It's worth a watch for the joke of it though. Please do check out Sam Tompkins Lose It All live version with him in a room with just another dude on a piano and his video for Time Will Fly. Both are powerful performances for different reasons.

Ahoy @ronireacts_to_all , you read all of your comments, we know. And funnily enough there is this song and the so many versions out on KZbin. As I understand, Sam and our home Boi Ren have performed it so often that this deep and actually pretty sad song has become fun. I just searched and found 5 different versions, and all of them are exceptional. So whenever you feel like returning to it, there they wait. My personal favorite is the absolutely hilarious "Ren & Sam Tompkins - Blind Eyed Ft. Angry Car Park Attendant", a one live take of course, and right after that the *real* music video "Ren - Blind Eyed ft. Sam Tompkins" which I think are two one takes. And then there is mix from a number of live performances called "Ren - Blind Eyed Ft. Sam Tompkins (Live)" which is not yet popular with the Ren reactors. And a busking video called "Ren & Sam Tompkins - Blind Eyed (Live Performance)". There you are... Other Ren and Sam Tompkins are What Went Wrong and What Went Wrong II and also a few busking videos.
