Ronna was a beautiful, very talented lady who never got the acclaim she deserved.

I saw Ronna in concert in the Summer of 92 at a local County Fair. She was amazing. I was already a big fan and had her first two albums. I still think that she had several songs that should have been not only big hit records, but Number 1's. I was convinced when I first saw the video to "He's My Weakness" that it was headed straight for the Top of the charts. I will never understand why it didn't. Country Radio never failed to disappoint me with what they routinely neglected to push. In the early 90's after Holly Dunn was Blacklisted over the absurd "Maybe I Mean Yes" controversy, I fell in love with Ronna, Kelly Willis and Shelby Lynne. None of them were given the time of day by Country Radio. Suzy Bogguss got some airplay for a few years. Then I went crazy over Lari White and virtually the same thing happened to her that Holly endured. Idiotic controversy over the video to "Wild At Heart" and she was inexplicably dropped by RCA out of nowhere. When she signed with Lyric Street, I expected her to be treated much better, but that honestly didn't happen. I was a huge fan Chely Wright fan years before she had any Radio success. Saw her in concert in the Summer of 94. My Mother loved James House and saw him in concert in I think 1996. That guy was an amazing singer/song writer. Again, Radio just didn't give him anywhere near the respect he deserved.

What a great voice. Too bad she never made it bigger on the charts. I remember buying this CD in the early 90s because of this song

This is off of Ronna's second cd, "The More I lean about Love, the less I understand". Thanks to this video, the song peaked at #49 on the country charts. She also recieved a ACM new female vocalist nomination.

She has such a great voice , traditional sounding but with her unique take on music. Ronna had a long hard battle with cancer and had to drop out of the music scene for a while. I hope she will make a comeback and show these popcountry singers what real country music is supposed to sound like and stand for.

+Michael Glenn I've always been wondering what ever happened to her... now I know :{(> where did you learn that? On the web there's next to nothing about what she's been up to...

+Michael Glenn um, what about this newsgroups.derkeiler.com/Archive/Rec/rec.music.country.western/2006-08/msg00244.html - was it really cancer, or did she just retire from the music scene?

Not true. Ronna has never had cancer, she just stopped singing. She's happy and healthy and doing great and is just as beautiful as ever :)

I saw her in concert in 1992. She was wonderful. Never understood why Country Radio programmers didn't like her, I thought "He's My Weakness" was a sure fire Number 1 song. I still do. Never got much airplay. I felt the same about "What If Your Wrong" and "Never Let Him See Me Cry" Those were more than good enough to be Number 1 songs as well.

What happens to these great singers??? They just get lost, disappear or move away from the business so quickly. It's sad, the business must really be as conniving and sucks as bad as they say, they're too many of the great talents that just disappear. Loved ya Ronna, WOW us again ;)

What a beauty and a great talent. Brings me back so many years ago....when country music was worth it....not like todays country music, which sounds like "hip-hop being sung by those with southern accents", absolute garbage!. Can't stand it.

I was told by a music director in Lincoln that this was a "Silly Bubblegum Song" That was their excuse for not adding it to the playlist. But when "He's My Weakness" came out I don't see how anyone could refer to that as anything but extraordinary. The song and video was exceptional. Still wasn't added to the playlist. The same guy told me when talking to him about Kelly Willis "I don't like her voice>; Are you freakin' kidding me.,
