One of the greatest performances of all time that is sadly forgotten by everyone except diehard Milsap fans. I remember taping this on our VCR when it first aired 20 years ago. I was only 12 years old and watched it over and over, totally blown away by the dynamic talent Ronnie displayed here. The most amazing thing about Ronnie is his versatility as a singer/musician..there is literally nothing this guy cannot sing.

This man is the Best entertainer I've ever seen in my life. I've seen many live in concert and none can compare to Mr. Ronnie Milsap, AKA ,WB4KCG

Simply one of the greatest live performances of the last 35 years by any artist from any genre! Ronnie's vocal and piano abilities are unmatched by any superstar on the charts today. How many "country singers" from any era can pull off a killer rock n' roll performance like this!?!? Ronnie is the most versatile American singer since Linda Ronstadt...a supreme yet underappreciated talent that today's performers can only dream about.

The first time I saw Ronnie was in Granite Falls, NC, in the early 70's and have been a diehard fan ever since. I went to Lake Norman, Charlotte, Greensboro, Boone & Asheville, and Dollywood to his shows. I saw Ronnie at the first 2 Fan Fairs and I went to two parties that he hosted for us fans. I've traveled many miles to see him perform, but I had to drive less than a mile to see him perform in Lenoir, NC last year.and talked with Joyce & Ronnie. What a talent and super human being!!!.

I met Todd in Portsmouth, Ohio and and seen Ronnie perform a fantastic concert. Todd felt bad that I could meet his dad because they were in a hurry to get everything loaded and travel to New York, I believe, to do another concert. The next time I seen Ronnie in concert was in Springfield, and Todd told the security guys to let me and my bf at the time, go to the meet and greet that was for workers, board members, etc. at the hospital they doing the benefit for. I was so excited I hugged Ronnie without telling them, I could have knocked him over..But he is a really really nice guy on top of being so talented!

A priceless, rockin' performance from the most versatile and underappreciated singer in America. Ronnie takes a medley of classic hits and sings them all well as the legends that made them famous. The dude does Ray Charles better than Ray! Listen to the man rock that damn piano at 7:52!

Truly one of the distinguished voices in country music with an amazing range of musical styles that you don't see in today's music. Well said MrNotNiceGuy! What is amazing is seeing the stage presence of this man and how he does a visual impersonation of Ray Charles when he's never even SEEN Ray sway around the piano bench like that! And Ronnie's powerful singing and piano playing speak for themselves. There is NOBODY in country music today who could equal this great performance from 20 years ago...

MrNotNiceGuy, perhaps that's why radio stopped playing Ronnie Milsap; he so can satisfy audiences, & is so talented & musically diverse, they were afraid he'd put everybody else out of business! (That & the fact that, in the early 90s, the country-pop fad was pretty close to dead.) That's a shame, for with better airplay, Ronnie could've won more #1s than even Conway Twitty & George Strait! 'Kenny Cheesy' is more like it! Exact opposite in ability to Milsap! Kenny bad, Ronnie Excellent! (claps)

@davemitchell1168 жыл бұрын
No. He's totally blind. A friend of mine helped set up a concert in Dallas for him several years ago. They ran a thin wire around the edge of the stage so he would know how far to walk when he sang standing, away from his piano.

@Sloneman a. It's the Grand Ole Opry, which tends to be more polite and well-mannered, plus how many in there are actually younger? b. Um, no, not a very underappreciated artist in country music; he's a very underappreciated artist in music, period.
Ronnie forgot about THE piano man, mr, Billy Joel. Billy wasn't country, but that was his nickname.

"Last Date" by Floyd Cramer is the instrumental...Skeeter Davis had a monster hit of it with lyrics! Great song for sure.
@CharlieAndRonnie15 жыл бұрын
Yes, that too, but it'd probably require a duet partner of some sort, and Ronnie would have to find an older singer for that whom's better than Willie Nelson. (What about Charley Pride?) Ronnie still has time to record that album, so what is he waiting for? It's long overdue as well! He should also give songwriting one more shot by composing one about Ray Charles! When he wants to be, Ronnie's an excellent songwriter ("Not For The Love Of You", "Plain and Simple", "Country Cookin'")! Get to it!
@CharlieAndRonnie15 жыл бұрын
In all honesty, I think Ronnie Milsap is a lot better than Fats Domino, Floyd Cramer, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard, and even Ray Charles combined! I know he'd disagree about Ray, but still, he should seriously do a tribute album to Ray Charles! He did a tribute album to Jim Reeves & outdid him everywhere, why not one for Ray? P.S. If I could give a few suggestions to Ronnie for that, I'd want him to do "What'd I Say", "Georgia On My Mind", "I Got A Woman", and "A Song For You" if you know it.
