thanks for posting this wonderful collection of clips....He embodied the essence of skating which now seems to be lost..When I was 10 my first skating coach ViviAnne Hulten took some of us to ice capades and I got to meet him...It is one of my favorite memories..we got to sit front row center and I will never forget seeing him do that wonderful blur spin right in front of me...It was just fantastic...he was wearing a black and white diamond print outfit...

He was such an amazing skater. His talent was unbelievable. He used to go and do double axels in skates that were as broken down as ballet slippers. My mouth dropped seeing him do this.

I knew Ronnie when he owned the Ice Palace in Las Vegas .. still the greatest skater ever!! A nice man and credit to the sport. No human will ever spin better!!!

Interesting how there are coaches today that claim sit spins can't possibly be fast and get a lot of revolutions if they are all the way down in a full shoot the duck position. Ronnie certainly proved this to be wrong. Perhaps some of today's coaches should study videos of past skaters.

The interesting thing about this is Ronnie's spins were "Forward" scratch spins most skaters today can not do forward "killer" scratch spins and get speed only on back spins.. furthermore Today there would not be any points for spending this much time on a spin which would lose any skater a title because there were no points for constantly changing positions, no points for steadiness of rotation, and instead wobbling or traveling like a drunken top spinning on a table top.... Instead you would think that those who like to measure everything would be here measuring the steadiness, the speed, the security of the spin and the "killer" aspect of the rotation..No wonder he was filmed for NASA re the consequences of dizziness when astronauts were sent aloft.

It's magic how he gains speed in the spin. Much has been lost since the impletation of the new points system, as Mr. Button has implied in the past.
