But he's lost every other record to Ronnie aside from the youngest word champion record so I really don't think a record he now shares being broken will change much as it's already accepted that Ronnie is the greatest ever. Si might even take Hendry's youngest world champion record soon too! Edit: Si is now older than Hendry was when he won the 1990 world championship so that record is safe from him.

Just from 1st round, Ronnie played well, took his time on shots. Not like him so shows he wants to win and his interview after was so positive, and that’s a little bit scary for other players. I do agree with you.

Some no snooker people in here. What Stephen is saying is, many big names are out already-Mark, Mark, Neil, Luca etc-so potentially it is easier for Ronnie. Going by first match, he is also playing very well, only missed couple pots, whereas Trump looked average, though he is the only player anywhere near to beating him at this juncture. Also totally agree, Maguire should have been a W champ. There was a point where he was really good.

Even if one is better; times change, the game changes - in the end it’s about respecting the sport and that means respecting the achievements and hard work of players in their greater context. In this regard, he can’t ever lose the title of being the GOAT. 🙂

Check the 2002 semi and you'll have it. Hendry was past his true prime aged 34 and Ronnie was 26 and not quite in his prime but in fairness was the defending champion at the time.

To pronounce it right, you have to get a load of really specific Chinese inflections, and a British commentator trying to suddenly say Chinese words properly would sound just as pretentious as if they suddenly started pronouncing Paris like "pa-ree!"... Why do we make such a fuss about pronouncing certain names accurately but then the same people will pronounce all kinds of other names totally wrong because it's just normal for a British accent. So long as it's nor offensive and people know what you're talking about, it's fine.
