Thanks for this!! In my place (Nigeria) many people just want to get married quickly like its a goal, but as you guys mentioned Christ is the GOAL!!One other thing i learnt is that in marriage you are actually offering your WHOLE self, that is ready to sacrifice and GIVE and not TAKE, TAKE, and TAKE from the other person. Thanks again for this!!

I have been happily married for 27 years and with God’s blessings many more to come. My take away from this video about marriage is ... my marriage is a reflection, proof of God’s love. I honor God by honoring my husband, by loving him as I would love God. God bless you Ronnie and Mel.

A lot of wisdom in this video. I've been married for 24 years and I can testify that my marriage has been more about Holiness than happiness. I thought marriage was going to be a romantic adventure but instead it's been more like a perpetual Iron Man challenge with momentary breaks to recharge and heal. It's DEFINITELY not the kind of marriage I would have chosen for myself (if I'd known how hard it was going to be I would have run!) but the Lord has used the hardship in my marriage to grow me in so many deep and powerful ways.

“Marriage is not the goal, Christ is.” It’s so easy to get caught up in the small things and the problems in a relationship, but when you focus on the goal (Christ), it makes those problems so much smaller.

The goal is holiness... i totally forgot about that for sometime though I heard a lot from church. Maybe time to let go of my non Christian bf if he is not ready to believe... Being holy like God applies to all of us (remember!) before or after marriage but with a non Christian bf, the temptation is hard... thanks for this video as a strong but gentle reminder!

@@Isabelle-kk4nm praise God! The Lord doesn't want us to strive and be unequally yoked with unbelievers. Our Father is a jealous God. He wants us all to Him Self. There is a season of equipping that The Lord will draw us into a deeper relationship with Him. To show us and teach us, how we need to be over comer's, through Lord Jesus. There are trails, to grow our faith, and Our Father will allow temptation. Both show us where we are at with Him, and what needs to be brought to the surface to be burnt up. I just told a guy that I had feelings for, that I loved him. And he rejected me. But I felt a release and now my relationship with the Lord is on fire again. The Lord has promised me and told me I would marry this guy. And he wants me to trust Him. I do. I complelty trust the Lord now I'm preparing my self, and making changes in my life, and focussing on my future that Lord has for me. I just felt like sharing on your comment because it spoke to me and my situation. God bless💖

He was like a prayer answer, but I was so afraid of marriage, because of a toxic and abusive relationship that I had in the past that left me with horrible traumas. Today I was freed from fear, my eyes are now on the Lord. I’m praying for a restitution on my engagement. Marriage is a project of God, Jesus is the goal! Don't take your eyes off Him!

Thank you. My boyfriend and I plan on getting married, but are still figuring out boundaries and healthy habits. This worldly culture tells us lies and so have our parents, both of which are divorced. We are deciphering them and it is difficult. Thank you for speaking truth to me. We are talking tonight about next steps and how to truly, intentionally honor God in our relationship. I am continuing to pray and seek great counsel like this. I am excited for whatever lies ahead, with him or not, married eventually to someone or not. I am looking to the Lord, knowing that any way I love is only because of Him. I am humbled to know that God loves me enough to give me his word and great wisdom. Thank you for your words, direct and sweet, loving and full of truth. It is hard for me to want to pursue marriage and understand it, when both his and my parents are divorced, so thank you for these words. The Bible gives a clear outline that marriage is created for a purpose, and is not a scary thing. Thank you.

Hi Ronnie and Mel..what a great video..thank you for taking the time to make such a solid teaching.. Saying till "death do we part," is a lot easier ..than to walk it out in your daily marrige. Talking about difficulties a marriage can experience early on..needs echoing.. Yes, expectancy of trials and tribulations in marriage is mentioned in the Bible. Personally, it was the situation I found myself in.."for sickness and in health"..My spouse and I are no longer living in the same house, for 8 years now we have lived apart.. but not divorced..due to My needing his medical insurance coverage. We are both Christians from childhood, and love Jesus. We met at work. I was a Hospice nurse and He was a hospice chaplain..We saved ourselves for marriage..and went through premarital counseling with our Pastor. We thought our marriage would be a rock solid, union..centered on Christ. But soon after we said, "I do"..the trials started..it got harder to enjoy each other, or spend time together without disagreements, and show romantic love..He became distant..I became nonchalant.. We both hated divorce and prayed and asked God to help rekindle our love and commitment to Him... but we never would recover. As believers..we were tithing, reading His word..going to church, fellowshiping, helping others, evangelizing, etc..but not fasting for a breakthrough..We thought we were doing everything that pleased God. Years were lost just being roomates..what went wrong? We started having financial issues due to the surmountable medical costs of my sudden serious illness..Then our first child was not well....My heart condition worsened after my son turned three. The stress of it all brought out our weaknesses and exposed the worst parts of our flesh..we both wanted it to end. Oddly enough.. not many believers, family, friends, came to our aid, offered help or even offered to pray for us..We did see a marriage counselor for help but my husband became irritated, distant, non emotional..didnt want to keep going to the sessions. I became depressed and self oriented..trying to hold myself, my child, my home, together.. I grew resentful, and we parted ways. Praying everyday for His will. Praying for you guys..loving this ministry and all the personal touches and responses..God bless.

Wow thank you for sharing your story Elizabeth! Had no idea you’d walked through all that! And yes, I feel like even we were completely unprepared for how hard marriage would be, and even now still feel sort of alone when it comes to counsel in that area. I am so excited. I almost every morning do a daily bible study part of the study I listen to a Pastor service. My regulars are Joyce Myer, Steven Furdick, Craig Groshel, which Life Church is my home etc.. So when I go to you tube it usually only pulls up my regular people.. However since my divorce in 09 God has been molding me and teaching me about marriage and being a Godly women and preparing me to be a Godly wife. I am 47 years old. I have made so many mistakes but God has changed my life so much since 09. One of the main things he has done for me is instill in me the importance of being celibate. In this day and time that is very different. I know without a doubt God put you two on my page this morning. I am so excited. This may be a bit rambling because of my excitement so I apologize ahead of time. I feel like this is God telling me something Im not sure what that is yet. I am a Bail Bondsman, Bounty Hunter, Private Investigator, Officer of the Court by trade. I have a ministry that is basically just me called Soldiers For Christ. I feel like God gave me my profession to use it as a platform to spread his love and minister to those in addiction, abuse etc. As I said earlier I am a member of Life Church. Pastor Craig has done an amazing thing teaching me that God wants a relationship not religion. So through this journey I have learned to fall in love with God. God has spoken so clearly to me that he must be center and 1st before I can be complete. He has showed me in order for me to have the man and marriage I want, I have to 1st be the woman he wants. I have been alone for most of this time, and even though it gets extremely lonely at times, I am so thankful for this season because I know its been God molding me into that woman. Teaching me that he is where I find my joy my peace my strength. God used Pastor Craig and his Bride to teach me that the best love I can ever give a man is to love him through God. Meaning dont worry about myself or my (future) husbands needs just worry about loving and honoring God 1st and through that my husband will feel loved and honored. God has also used Pastor Craig and his Bride to teach me that I want to be second, that there is no love more beautiful then being second in my marriage. Everything I hear you two saying are things God has been instilling in me since 09 when this journey started. Listening to you has been like God's face saying okay here it is in the real.. I was so encouraged to hear you did not even kiss until the day you got married. Just everything you are both saying lines up with everything God has been teaching me. Like I said Im not sure why or what God is saying to me by putting you two on my page this morning, but I am certain it is God and I am just filled with encouragement and excitement. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful love for the Lord and each other... Love your sister in Christ, B.

As a married person I confirm that marriage is harder than celibacy. So many struggles, my husband almost wants a divorce but only because of the rough nights with our toddler. So yes children CAN ruin a marriage. It s not all bundles of joy. The devil wants to ruin families and I can see that all the more. So I think it is great that you educate people on this subject. God bless you!

I am getting married in 10 days !! I met my fiance at our local church 5 years ago in our young adult worship team. He is a drummer (trouble! haha) and I was new to the team singing and playing acoustic. We were both hot messes but had the biggest secret crushes on each other. He worked at publix and I went to school for cosmetology. With no communication for 2 whole years, we finally connected and began pursuing a relationship. Since then, there have been many so many challenges, bumps, and failures. But the whole time God was working on us and he never stopped guiding, loving, and teaching us. He has been so faithful to us in our relationship, careers, and individually. Now, I work full time as the worship leader at the local church where we met, and Logan is blessed to own and run his own company. Jesus knew what he was doing when he put these two broken people together because we have both grown so much together and individually. I say all of this to say, please keep doing what you are doing. Although I give God ALL glory for all of this, HOW he did it always looked different. Whether it was through Logan, my mentors, the word, or through amazing dedicated and faithful youtubers, it's all God. People and couples need the word of God. Thankyou.

Thank you guys so much for this video! I already knew that marriage should honor Christ but I didn't know how that should work out. Now I know that it shows Jesus love and what he did for us on the cross. It is a beautiful picture that god paints on this earth!

You all are spot on, I honestly loved this video. It is so true. I'm not married, and don't know if this is a call on my own life, within God's will to get married, but from what the marriages I have seen and observed this is absolutely spot on. Thanks!

I honestly think my favorite part in your teachings is the honesty. You're not blowing spoke. You break it down to an understanding that it's about a relationship

Thanks so much Ronnie and Mel for creating this amazing video! I have been married for 3 years and learned so much from you guys and was inspired to serve my husband well. 💜My favorite part is when you talked about how when Jesus died on the cross, we became ONE with Him just as we become one with our spouses! That blew me away and made me feel so loved and close to Jesus. Thank you so much for sharing all these truths with me!💜💜💜
