This video further confirms my semi-Hero WR gameplan...WR, RB, RB, WR...so on and so forth...No reason you can't lock in your starting WR's and RB's in the first 4 rounds then still grab an elite TE and QB and fill the flex spot(s) afterwards...I see too many people trying to stack their bench instead of their starting lineup. Bye weeks matter but it's better to stack your starting lineup than your bench that you'll lose only a fraction of the time, pending injuries.

A lot of these didn't pass the sniff test to me so I went back to check. Just looking at the outliers on your chart, 2022 Chubb was RB17 pre-draft (based on ESPN) and drafted RB15 in my home league. 2022 Fournette was RB10 pre-draft and drafted RB12 in my home league. Joe Mixon 2018 was RB11 pre-draft (don't have the history but I'm sure he was drafted top 12 in my home league). Hyde in 2017 was coming off MCL and RB16. I do remember 2017 Ingram being a much later pick due to concerns over Adrian Peterson and Kamara being drafted that year.
@ceej0105 ай бұрын
Also, the reason you think James Cook is a steal in round 4 home league is because he goes at the 2/3 turn...Jacobs is mid round 3. You can stay away from Giants, Pats, Commanders, Seahawks, Titans, Saints and Cards backfields - their offensive lines are mid at best. Chubb, Chandler, Zamir, Javonte, Moss, Dobbins and maybe Swift have the best chance to payoff at cost because you're either making the bet their offense outperforms or that better talent prevails. Of course that assumes we are excluding clear guys like Braelon, Allgeier, Charbonnet, Corum, Wright, Bucky and Ray Davis. No point in taking anybody after Jacobs when you can stack your roster with six of these guys plus your first two hero picks.
@matthewdennis17395 ай бұрын
@@ceej010 I don't think your point is correct for the Cards. Conner, while he is healthy at least, will be a good fantasy asset. He was last year with just as bad of an OL, and much worse offensive environment. That offense is going to be better than people think.
@ceej0105 ай бұрын
@@matthewdennis1739 maybe, maybe not. I like Conner but their SoS is brutal and could be playing from behind a lot with Kyler out there scrambling. Could turn into see what we got mode quick if they start the season 1-5. I think they are favorites in two games all year (NE/WAS).
@matthewdennis17395 ай бұрын

Yep, The avg points per RB drop around 2 points from round 1 to 4. And from 4 to 10 it´s almost the same average fantasy points. While the avg points per WR drop almost 5 points from round 1 to 4, and after round 4 its just garbage WRs.

Love the video but you conveniently overlooked the “switching teams” factor when discussing Josh Jacobs. Hopefully that doesn’t affect Jacobs negatively as he is a tempting draft pick.
@jaredwolff66885 ай бұрын
He’s in a much better situation, history says he won’t be a bell cow in Green Bay but he’s also getting paid way more than the next 2 on the depth chart so maybe they break precedent for him but either way he’ll get early down snaps and 3rd down snaps the whole drive so he’ll load up on catches and yards and maybe lose out on TD’s worst case. He’s in the best offense of his career and could very well compete for the rushing title again. He’s also in his prime and usually the switching teams thing applies to older players going to worse situations who have more cap space and offer a bigger contract. I think the switching teams factor would apply to king Henry or Joe mixon not saquon or jacobs

Appreciate the well thought out analysis. If there is a way to work in TD potential, I think this would be highly actionable. James Cook is unlikely to be in a position to score many TDs, which significantly limits his upside (in comparison to Walker and Jacobs). Cook's "fatal flaw" is his size, not something he can fix.
@soxfan52405 ай бұрын
This is a big one for me. I just can't get myself to buy Cook at his current ADP, but I am a huge fan of Walker as rb2 in round 5 or even an rb1 in traditional 2rb, 2wr, 1 flex leagues where you can start WR WR WR/TE and QB through round 4, in some order. I landed 10th of 10 teams, went AJ Brown and Garret Wilson (didn't love Wilson there but had to get a piece somewhere), then Nico Collins and Josh Allen at the next turn. Ended up Ken Walker and Dalton Kincaid in the 5/6. If I'm touching that Buffalo offense, it's probably that stack or a couple Keon stashes, but I'm not a fan of Cook and that run game. I know that's not possible in sharper leagues and underdog, but in home leagues on Yahoo, the boards line up beautifully if you pick near the end of rd 1.

@@joshholmes1372 I don't know about mediocre. They were RB23 and RB24 last year in PPR. Offensive line is upgraded. Run-scheme is upgraded. Overall offensive efficiency will be upgraded. WRs downgraded. They're both going to get volume and be part of the passing game. Overall TDs for the offense should increase considerably. I think the most likely outcome is two RB2s with contingent upside to be an RB1 if the other goes down. And you're drafting them as high end RB3s. That's a bet I'm willing to make. People are upset about Arthur Smith because they spent 1st round draft capital, but if you're spending 6th round draft capital that's different. You need to look at the context, what are you spending and what are you likely to get in return?

Kamara proved last year that being on a bad offense does nothing to hurt his fantasy value. His rushing efficiency has been tanking for a few years now, yet he’s still an easy pick in ppr. Dude has always been an outlier.
@qazzaqstan5 ай бұрын
Truthfully to me it looks like he completely fell off given just how inefficient he's gotten. The 1 thing that makes him not a clear dead zone back is if he has 80 receptions this year I wouldn't be shocked and even in half PPR that is easily good enough (and just for a slight win he likely hits decently big if that happens). It is a matter of price though since I've seen him go anywhere from round 4 to round 6 (even later in Underdog but I'm not talking about that) round 4 and even round 5 I just can't do it. No longer good player on bad offense is just not a traditionally winning recipe, but round 6 is just a bit too cheap for me even though it feels gross.
@countrybumkiniii90035 ай бұрын
@@qazzaqstan I agree, won’t take him n 4th or 5th I’ll take him n 6th or 7th all day though along with Walker who is next to him on ESPN. They have the worst ranked O line n football this season so I can see Carr dumping off early and often to Kamara. Half Ppr he’s a good pick but full Ppr to me he’s a must have! I’ve did 35 money drafts and now people are starting to reach 2 rounds for him and Walker because they’re starting their draft with 3 WRs and TE. Then n 5th & 6th they’re trying to go Kamara & Walker which I must say I like doing the same if I can. Good luck on your season and hope you win that ship!!✌️

What is the "dead zone" exactly? Thing is I feel drafting too many RB's early is too risky! The chance of bust or injury is too high. Feel like it's better to focus more on getting an elite TE & QB early. Good to take at least 1 in the first 3 or 4 rds but that's it.
