While this is true. I'm not sure you explore many fighting games. There have been decent grapplers in other games, the grapplers in KoF benefit greatly from KoF mechanics. I didn't think that needed to be explained but...here we are.

Question that’s been on my mind for a while now: what exactly are Vice and Mature’s relationship? Are they sisters? Besties? Lesbians? All I know is that they’re pretty much inseparable. I don’t mind not getting an answer, but that was something sitting on the back of my mind. Funny enough, the reason I bring this up is because of…ugh…the live action KOF movie. Where there are some hints that they may be a couple. But then again I try to ignore that movie complet.

They are orphans that were raised together. The closest thing you can consider them is childhood friends/rivals. They tolerate each other's existence but wouldn't mind killing the other if they become weak or are an obstacle. So it's like how you may dislike someone but due to circumstances you have to maintain a good relationship.

like, both? kinda lol. That new edition going live on the 12th gives you everything including 22 dlc characters, and city of the wolves is still far away in april. While its not one to one or anything kofxv will certainly help you get the idea of the "SNK flow" as it were, with things like everyone being able to run and short hop

it's worth trying both and seeing which type your more into they play very differently. that being said these days idk if kofxv can stay active without constant updates but i think it's popular enough that kof fans will keep playing it even with a lower player count I mean they brought back kof multiple times from the dead so kof fans are very dedicated to the franchise. i would honestly say just go for what type of game you prefer and if you want to get a hands on experience try one of the cheaper kof games and the original garou mark of the wolfs first just so you can get a understanding of each game but obviously only if your not sure which one to get after seeing gameplay.

It's worth it to me, a casual player. I enjoyed spectating KOF XV matches, so I started with buying KOF 2000 & KOF 14, paying $10-15 each, to see for myself how I felt about the games. I also tried Mark of the Wolves for the first time this year. I wasn't into it because I much prefer how KOF games feel (I've heard Mark of the Wolves described as playing more like a Street Fighter game). I like the upbeat pace, the acrobatic jumping, and I love much of the KOF roster. I like 3 vs 3 matches (the Wolves games are standard 1 v 1 matches). Fwiw, I mainly play Guilty Gear (Strive & Xrd), Under Night In-Birth 2, and I haven't gotten Tekken 8 yet, but I think I'll like it more than I did Tekken 7. And I prefer Marvel games to Street Fighter games. Browse through videos uploaded on the KOF XV REPLAYS KZbin channel to get a taste for how the game can be played. With 50+ characters, and teams of 3, matches don't all feel the same, because there is so much diversity in how the characters are built. tournaments on Tampa Never Sleeps' KZbin channel can also show you some KOF 15 action, and those tournaments have commentary which can help familiarize you with how KOF works. KOF is like soccer, it's much less popular in the USA than it is in other parts of the world.

@rooflemonger Happy to see your channel's success. Huge fan here. Just wanted to shed some light on Mature's "new" special move. Its actually a grounded version of her classic move called Sacrilege (623A/C) (at least this was the name of the attack in KOF98UMFE). It was basically her dp (where she jumped in an arc and attacked with aerial swinging arms while laughing at the opponent). And I think in KOFXV it will be treated as such like a dp. But what's unique to her is that she can EASILY actually full combo after her dp meterlessly (while the initial hit is opponent standing on the ground midscteen). Looks pretty good. But these are only guesses.

@8:26 In the KOF manga where shingo goes back in time. Vice and Mature can be seen in ancient Japan possessing the corpses of 2 ladies. Not really an explanation, but it looks like the bodies they're using were already dead. Not sure if that's Canon. Just thought it was cool.

To be real here KoF was a franchise I got into during my late teen years to early adulthood(late 2000s-mid 2010s for perspective). I knew of them franchise and the games. First time I technically played any of these games was when I was 4-5 and it was at an arcade, from that day forward I always been a Terry and especially an Iori fan. All this to say that I really don’t know much of the characters or even their names. Ik how they look but that’s it. Ik more of the classics ig you can say. So Kyo, Mai, Iori, K’, Geese, Rugal,Leona,ect. With all that context out of the way. Mature and Vice look cool af. I can’t say which of the two look more appealing to me because I like the crazy nutcase type in fighting games but I also like the elegant(even gaudy) type too. I think I might like Vice more cause of command grabs and I like grapplers of any kind wether it’s their all thing or not

I bought this game last week with everything but the latest fighter pass. This week the Fighter pass was half price so I got that too. Amazing Roster. Been having fun with it. Been getting stuck on how to follow some of the harder move lists. You do a main move and then follow up moves that’s not always working for me. The new Characters look pretty cool. I learned a lot from your video.

While there's never been a great explanation, Vice and Mature only returned when the seal between the human realm and spirit world was on the verge of collapsing. They haven't done it on a whim. They were gone for the Orochi finale, the entirety of the NESTS saga and the first two-thirds of the Ash saga. It took the threat of Saiki and Ash deleting the dimension in which Orochi ever existed to summon them back. And Verse's dimension colliding shenanigans were the fallout from that. People act like Vice and Mature are always showing up, but if not for this ultra last second DLC it would have only been KoF13 and 14 that they participated in tournaments since their deaths. (Dream matches don't count.)

I'm really happy with how KOFXV turned out. It's a fantastic way to close out the year and wrap up this chapter of the game. That said, I'm still a bit greedy and would’ve loved a Season 3, but I understand that City of the Wolves is the priority now.

?? People have been playing kof15 pretty consistently. The issue was that not everyone has their settings to Any region matchmaking and typically stayed in their region or played in casual matches.

With each game, their art direction is going better and better, CotW is gorgeous, the only thing I wish that they would differentiate or/and experiment with styles.
