Do safe jumps defeat reflect?

@@Naruyami4 no they do not. Reflect beats every attack other than throws by design, and they happen on the first possible frame which would mean the safe jump would connect with it. That said the idea always if you think they will wake up and deflect, you then just go for a throw, or wait, watch them whiff, and then punish it.

All this time having GT Goku as a punching bag was all for this moment: Recreating the awful beating Kid Goku got ages ago upon Tien's debut in Dragon Ball. That's how you know Rooflemonger is an oldschool fan. Totally has nothing to do with having unbridled passionate loathing for all the previous fuzzie immunities and easy avoidance of some attacks just by standing still. :V

TBH they should add slot of custumes I prolly pay for them all Goku in yardrat attire would get me to play him long hair trunks after the hyperbolic time chamber would be sick too Vegeta should get his grey super outfit also I wanna be able to play piccolo with the cape and helmet on adult Gohan should have his great saiyanman clothes and instead of being in mystic he should be in ss2 that would be sick but I agree pretty much if they did release costumes people definitely would buy them I don't play any of those characters expect piccolo but I would play them if they had alternative attire

Chiaotzu level 3 is also very useful if the opponent is in the air and has 0 bar! There is no none vanish option in the game that lets them escape once it has been called including Adult gohans command drop. Its better than tri-beam in this situation as it’s unblockable, you have the downside of losing chiaotzu but getting 3600 damage for a jump punish is pretty good in a tense last character situation! (Day 1 Tien main)

Great video man. Im a Tien main and you taught me lots of stuff here. I think he is the best anchor in the game honestly. Limit break lets him merc you off anything and he doesnt need assists to be a can opener. Tien mains, R I S E U P ! ! !

Love tien been playing him for a long ass time. I usually use the Dodon ray after my basic ki blast in a combo even works in air when you got your opponent in the corner. Tiger knee also hits after a vanish in air instead of using DR. Dodon ray is still a great pop up assist just super jump to do a side switch.

The C assist is pretty great if you run 16 on point, in the corner you can get a lot of free dunks and slams extending with it. They don't fall out of the assist if you j.2h on 16

Not sure if it's been said but if you don't have Chiaotzu and you try to do Telekinesis, Tien will instead reflect most projectiles, including beam supers.

5:10 I'm gonna have to correct you on this one bud. The Dodon Ray is never stated to be Superior, however, it is stated to be deadlier than the Kamehameha. The Kame takes longer to charge, uses both hands and is a solid beam that you can continuously pump energy into, if your opponent gets consumed in the beam, they will most likely die. Dodonpa is a single volatile bullet of explosive energy that can be charged to be stronger, but only when still in your control. It explodes on impact, and is faster than the Kame. All this to say, I'm fine with it working the way it does, except for the fact that it's a slower start up and slower recovery. The move has no upside/edge against any other beam in the game, yet they still slow it down and make it do the same damge..?

Actually, he's not wrong by technicality. Master Roshi himself is the one that states that the Kamehameha is _inferior_ specifically, though it could be dubism. Since the context is in lethality and practical use, the Dodonpa vs Kamehameha is implied to kill a target faster when charged or go off quicker at minimal power when two equally skilled combatants use each beam. As iconic and potent as the Kamehameha may be, Master Roshi's school isn't one for Assassins after all, so the comparison is an apt one.

@@MrMarket1987 agreed. Roof is not incorrect outright, but when you look at the context of how and when Roshi says it is "inferior", it makes sense. Chaotzu is shooting Dodonpas left and right, all of which are shot seconds between each other and all of which can kill Krillin. Krillin on the other hand is trying to use the Kamehameha for the first time in a real fight, which takes time to charge and can only be shit once. When Roshi says it is "inferior" It's more of a moment of him saying "For the love of God keep running! That move makes you vulnerable! He's going to shoot at any moment! Just run!"

@utewbing honestly, I wish they would just take away his basic Ki blast and replace it with a faster version of the Dodonpa. Then his 236S could be the "Super Dodonpa" or the "Dodonpa Barrage". Maybe it's slower, but it takes a wider part of the screen? Or maybe it can be aimed? Idk, I just want him to be the best he can be

It really confuses me that Tien dropped off in the competitive scene so hard after the double super nerf. Still has the best meter burn in the game, shits damage, doesn't have the best ki blast (air one is good though) but he has a beam that's pretty fast, a 2L low an overhead a command grab that leads to STUPID DAMAGE like Tien out here👌👍👌👍

angles can be odd sometimes but usually yes. If they come directly on top of you/from backwards angle homing will usually win though.

Okay, no. The TOD from the end, super impractical. First off, you need to spend 5 bars on it. Okay, sure. I can give you that. It's not necessarily a good thing to have not spent any of that, but if you were getting pretty stomped, you might have that much meter stored up. You also need to still have Chiaotzu, which is pretty unlikely, given that just about any character can TOD thanks to DHC into Chiaotzu, but maybe you haven't needed to do that yet in the fame, so it's not unheard of. What really gets me is the way you say "All i need to do is hit you with 5M". You can stop right there. 5M is a mid, meaning your opponent only needs to remember to turn on their brain before the game to block it, and since you said yourself that Tien's pressure is crazy, you seem to be aware that people will be prepared to play defense against this character. Blocking is usually a huge part of that. And since any block will block 5M...like my guy, you are not going to get this in a real game outside of a few fringe cases. BUT EVEN AFTER THAT, you go so far as to claim " I can do this mid-screen", even though you had to push him halfway to the corner, and "i still have plenty of bar left over", when you don't even have 1 single bar left. I get it, you're an entertainer. You wanted to end on a big punchy selling point. "OMG S3 TIEN IS BROKEN: SPARKLESS TOD 420 NOSCOPE", but dude. Come on. You and i both know that these videos are targetted at new players, and meant to be seen by them as reliable sources of information, and a whole 3 minutes of your video is devoted to showcasing and worshipping an impractical, nigh useless combo, all for the sake for overselling the character. What sets me off more than anything is that your channel taught me the fundamentals of this game. I have looked to you as a reliable source of information to help me improve since day 1, and now that i have some agency in my learning process, i'm discovering that you're not nearly the reliable source i thought you to be. It makes me wonder just how much else i've taken as gospel from you and woven into my gameplay, that i now have to rip out with tweezers for fear of it compromizing my playstyle. Please, for the love of god, don't make a habit out of this kind of thing
