Fun fact: 17’s energy wave does 17 hits(with 1717 damage) and 18’s does 18 hits. A18 is my main and playing her is tough but it pays off if you figure her out. I’ve surprised plenty of people with her.

All I'd like to add concerning the block string section at around 16:20 is that M or EX command grab will also connect if slightly delayed after 5M due to the forward momentum inching her close enough, which can be useful against opponents caught sleeping at the wheel. Otherwise, this guide is incredibly comprehensive and useful. Great job once again!

2 year old video, not sure how things changed season to season since I just got into the game, but I wanted to point out with the destructo disk - If you make it hit the ground at your opponents feet (particularly when they aren't blocking it) it explodes with an extra shockwave and deals additional damage. Great video though! I learned a lot!

Great guide! I wanna point out that you can cross up after a snap back if you jump forward before the 17 call. At that point, you can falling either land low or falling heavy and get a full combo

I’m sure this has been mentioned at some point, with so many comments on this video. But I discovered that you can tag super after landing a light command grab. But the super must be a command grab. Discovered this using Beerus as an example. Total damage is 4560. Not great, but can kill in the right situation.

I've been trying to figure out how to use A18 as a anchor and this video helped out a lot. I know nowadays she's a high tier character(unless she was a high tier character from the start but she was complex do nobody bothered to play as her), but she was a cool character to me since I found it cool she calls in A17 to attack people. But it sucks that I don't have this game in my room, otherwise I would be training everyday on this game

That went over bare basics, but I mean going for more character specific ones, like you do here. Discussing mix ups and options to either make the blockstring neutral or steal a turn.

most characters just don't have it in them to do anything other than magic series and then maybe assist call to steal a turn. 18 is much more advanced than others in that regard so that's why she got that section. Someone like SSJ goku there just would not be anything to talk about.

Beautiful guide man, thank you. I'm glad to see people hype over 18. My team since day 1 has been A18, A16 and Nappa and if I wasn't a scrub I'm sure I could dominate with them. I get some very suspect mixups from stacking A17 with those two assists and she has taught me to be ready to hit confirm from every situation. I just wish there was more coverage of the option of advancing with A17 barrier in the corner, because it has become a core part of dealing with problem characters for me. Only other thing I didn't notice you mention was how she retains momentum when using the A17 assist in the air, including after an air dash. Very sneaky possibilities from that. Cheers!

FUN TIP : android 18'slevel one drags your opponent, so if you are having trouble getting level 3s you can time it right you can combo them. keep in mind this work well with command grab supers like trunks and android 16 and beams thing like Vegetas, Gokus, and cells. supers like frieza level 3( link to this guy's frieza rundown: www.bing.com/videos/search?q=frieza+level+3+dragon+ball+fighterz&&view=detail&mid=2E6EBBB24C09A29C396F2E6EBBB24C09A29C396F&rvsmid=CBABFCAB29B43A3E5EDCCBABFCAB29B43A3E5EDC&FORM=VDRVRV) takes extreme timing, requiring almost immediate usage at almost perfect timing. hope this helps.

Not really, you keep your air momentum going which means if you TK it you are gonna superjump and then fling yourself into the air after the partner call.

Nope. I mean it’s always good to expand your tech with the character, but I’d advice you to master the basics & advanced (useful) tech first, then spend time on Small stuff like that.

Between A and B its really really dependent on your team. Certain teams make amazing use of the barrier for defense and various gimmicks, however that needs specific characters. The B assist being a fairly basic projectile means you can slap 18 on most any team.

I’m an 18 main and felt hurt when he talked about 17s key blast. If you have them in the corner and call 17 and ur opponent vanishes the get hit and u can down 4 into a combo also good for baiting super dash

Rooflemonger I really wanna know why when I do certain combos sometimes they recover and some times they dont, it's like a 50 50 combo I'm not changing anything different in the combo but yet it's a different outcome each time, i truly dont understand why that happens and hope that you know so that I can maybe land it everytime without them recovering

Recovery is chooseable by the player. Unless its a level 3 you have no say in the matter. They can up tech, back tech, in place tech, delay tech, and forward tech(if in air)

rooflemonger I meant during practice, the cpu recovers some times during the combo and sometimes they dont that's why I didnt understand, i shouldve specified more but relating to the online part you brought up when someone did the combo I'm practicing to me i couldn't recover (and believe me i spam square the whole time during a combo cause you know if they mess up once then I'm outta there). I just dont really understand it though, very bad at explaining things i'm sure you probably dont understand me

Nyaruk0 if you're asking about a "blue" combo, you will recover as soon as it is no longer a true combo if you HOLD either L, M, or H. Doesn't work with S. Basically if you HOLD one of those 3 buttons, you recover the moment it's not a true combo.

Nyaruk0 whether your combo ends in air recovery or ground recovery can depend on the combo, how high in the air you end and if you have Smashed or wall bounced. Also things like ending air combos with L, L, L instead of L, M, H can change whether they will recover on the ground or go into sliding knockdown respectively.

You must delay stand M yes, and its a matter of timing because its very universal on the entirety of the cast.

db Squash 18 is my main on point with teen gohan and his pop-up assist helps to carry some massive combos with her. They require a ton of timing and practice though. Adult gohans assist is pretty much the same as teen gohans so I personally recommend it (especially if you’re really good with him).

In the beta I most said I like calling # 17 to throw some ki blast to force a rush in or and than pushing it by throwing some Disk out (I don't know if the lag is longer or if it dosen't really work but still I think it a fun trick to do whit her only really useable form away else you will just get hit in the face whene trying to get the disk out) But any way I just saying this to open up option (like I said I don't know if it still work or not It was in the beta and I am not really the best at this game so it probably not that good but hey and option is an option) *EDIT:* Nice trick for the Assist barrier (tho I won't know what and whene to use it but it dose seem really usefull thing to know and quite a thing you wouldn't think off Can't wait to try the Switch demo whit my bros) Oh may be I should try to use her Assist to protect a krilling Afterimage (I find that Afterimage if is pretty hard to do whitout protection and since he kinda go back a bit before jumping in may be the barrier would cover him?) Any way I may try that out in the other beta
