Keith thinks hazing is okay and part of becoming a good deckhand. Jakes actions are nothing compared to some of the "legend captains" on this show. I think in this field of work yelling is basically normal for most rough situations. He only yelled at his friend after days at sea of not catching crab, losing money, and having to hear his friend's disrespect the whole time. If he struck his friend I would agree, but yelling really isn't that bad.
