Wild Bill is a smart and great boss! When everyone says Jarod is the problem. Wild Bill see’s right through that. He knows its a team effort. If Jerod is doing bad at his job its not all Jerods fault, who trained him? Did they train him right, did they train him so the training was effective? Did the guys learn Jerod was bad at the job and make adjustments while doing their duties to over come Jerods pitfalls, or help jerod how to be an effective deck hand? So 1 guy cant bring a whole boat down. Unless if all the other people working let the boat go down… and that is why Wild Bill was upset with everyone pointing the finger at Jerod!

Doesn’t matter what they’re for. He lied about having them. It also doesn’t matter because the insurance company has a rule about crew members having warrants. You can’t take a multimillion dollar crab boat out to sea with four or five crew members (plus the Discovery crew) on it in violation of the terms of your insurance policy. That’s a big no-no. You’re putting the boat and everyone on it at risk, at that point… and if you’ll lie about something like that, why should the crew trust you with anything else?

@@mrsleep0000 I understand it does take a while to find the right fit. I also understand, that some people. Perceive kindness for weakness. But I will ask you this how would you like to be remembered, as bitter ,mean ,petty and nasty. Or kind ,loving patient and generous. It only takes a match to start a fire. You get a couple guys who are willing to change the culture and continually foster and mentor the growth of your team. Then maybe people begin to do the right thing with out being beat down every day.I worked with a man from Montana for awhile the jobs over there are scarce . Every day he would act as if we were friends and partners. Yet every other day I was called onto the carpet. It took a while to figure out that he was that guy jealous and petty but I treated him no different. Final thought. Are we the one's who invented work ? Has it all been done before? The only way to making true change, is by changing ourself ,thoughts and tactics to make life better. Because we only get one time around. So why not help the other one along the way. That's how I would like to be remembered.

@slydEvil35
@slydEvil35 Жыл бұрын
Background checks are standard these days and it’s not difficult/expensive to see if someone has any warrants in the US. Hell Bill could just ask a local dock cop to run his crews names/DOB’s in his car computer. It’s really a quick search in a database. At the end of the day it’s the captains responsibility to make sure his crew is legally able to work on his boat. Any money he lost as a result is his own fault. But naturally Bill isn’t at fault since merely asking someone you’ve never met is good enough vs taking a few extra minutes to do your homework. Love how Bill is high and mighty about drugs/warrants but doesn’t conduct background check or drug tests. Wanna know why? Because if people who had legal and/or drug issues couldn’t fish, the entire crab industry collapses. Bill and every captain on this boat knows they are hiring legal runaways or junkies. How the hell else are you supposed to work hard for 24+ hours straight? No amount of coffee or Red Bull can keep someone going that much. Classic “tough” guys who preach discipline and accountability but don’t subscribe to that philosophy themselves
