Look at YOU listening to the 1999 era B-sides and the Deluxe album! I am so impressed. I love to see younger folks getting exposed to Prince and learning about him. He was one in a one!

Loved this Luke 💜 there are a few interviews with Susan Rogers on KZbin and they are all amazing. She was his full time 24/7 for 5 years. Her interviews give so much insight into him. Morris Hayes is another one, who worked with P for 20 years. His interviews are great too. As you see Alicia loved him. He loved her too. When you get an artist like P who is so multifaceted you find so many other massive artists are fans too. From Slipnots Corey Taylor to Paul McCartney to Led zeppelins Robert Plant to Elton John and Freddie Mercury … all Prince fans. I think you’re now getting to realise what an amazing super human he was and why he is loved so much. I love Alicia too and I love this song 💜 Welcome to the Prince world … you’ll be discovering new music and new things about him for decades to come.

Great video! I've watched a bunch of videos with Susan Rogers, she's a very interesting person & knew Prince so well. Prince wrote songs both specifically for other artists (ex: I Feel For You for Chaka Khan, who prince loved) and that other artists took & made huge hits, like Sinead O'Connor covering "Nothing Compares 2 U'. I actually like Prince's version of Nothing Compares 2 U, better, but that's a hot take for some people, lol.

Hey, hope all is well. People didnt understand his name change. He changed his name to the symbol as he started and led musicians to fight for their masters, people today not understand even taylor swift is redoing her catalog of music with taylors version cds to regain ownership. The name , the artist formally known as was never said or made by prince, that was the media who had no way to print the symbol so they made that term then later own they were able to have the symbol on computers. He also liked the new name because it seperated him from prince,he used to say, prince is dead, and he used the symbol. FUNNY I went to an alicia keys concert long ago and john legend was the opener, nobody knew him he was just starting out. I actually thought he was boring and couldnt wait for his part to end. 😆 yes later on he changed ,didnt curse and stopped signing some dirtier songs, or he would change the words. He has a song called DMSR which has the line "Work that body like a whore" to sing that in later years he changed that to "work that body like you want some more"

Rarely did Prince give permission to cover any of his songs(As you delve into more and more interviews with Prince, you’ll discover what Prince really thought about “covers,” people using an artists image on a screen to enhance their performances, lip-syncing, and his views on upcoming artists.) If he gave permission to an artist or asked an artist to perform at Paisley Park - it was because he respected the artist; professionally and artistically.

Prince used profanity up until he became a Jehovahs Witness, then he stoped.

How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore was NOT a hit song. Most people had never even heard of it when it was out.

Prince’s b sides were played on the radio, at least in DC where I lived. So I would say that most people who listened to pop and R&B radio in the 80s did know his b sides.
