This really hit home for me. At the time this was aired I lost my home - it felt like I lost my life. Mum tried to ‘off’ herself and dad kicked me out. The memories have never left me and it took decades to recover ‘me’. I wish I had found a friend like this at that time. Sorry for the gloom 😎

Good to get stuff off your chest though♥️, life can be crap no doubt about that, a sense of humour helps. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you for posting. These daytime dramas were terrific. Wish they still made them like they did back then.

Blimey. Doing the washing up in the bath. That’s grim. I lived in a few bedsits in the late 70s, but they tended to include a sink in the actual room.

You're not wrong! Of course, to save water she should have added a splosh of bubble bath and got in the bath too, to free two birds with one key!

I lived in a few in Glasgow and Stirling in the nineties. Some had sinks in the room and mostl had shared kitchens and bathrooms. Sometimes I got lucky and they had cook8ng facilities in the room.

Keen-eyed Fawlty Towers fans might recognise the actress who played 'Nellie' from the Waldorf Salad episode in which she has a brief speaking role.

And three years earlier (1976) she played Mrs C.J. in The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin.

She does look a lot like her. I actually clicked on this episode because the woman playing Nellie looked like a side character from Upstairs, Downstairs but I couldn't place her. I had to Google it. She played Mrs. "not with my leg" Fellowes, the cook that worked in Elizabeth and Lawrence's house.

... Hopefully NELLIE won't need to Go On the Batter if The Son can set a Webcam Up.. 😂😂 🏴 ✌️ 18:08
