Is this not working fully anymore? it worked a few weeks ago but reinstalling now and can't seem to install g code shell, kamp, etc. says successfully installed, but there are 404 errors and when i check what has been installed it says that it hasn't been. checked for installer updates, said there was one, updated and cannot open installer.sh anymore. also now it asks for github usernames and passwords?

Very nice! I think you’ll love it. It’s very hands off and just cranks prints. I had to slow mine down a bit but even then it prints perfect. Just wish I could install KAMP haha ;)

Hi this video will be very useful for me as a new owner of CR 10. Since it seems CR10 is not so popular and not many people post content about it. Jut wondering, what happens if creality issues updates, do i have to ignore them ? Also can you confirm that there is no input shaping on the Y ? Can we buy external probe and use that ?

I think Creality will eventually root this like they did with the K1. Videos like this help us push this to them. I can send an email saying hey, looks how popular this video is, let’s make this real. haha With that said, destinal will keep these updated if there is something important that needs to be updated. Otherwise, you should be good to go until an official rooted firmware is released. Im not 100% sure but I dont think it has a sensor in the bed. If anything you can make it use the sensor in the printhead for Y anyway, it just won't be as good. I believe Kingroon does this on their KP3S Pro V2. This is something I need to dig into further. With the Nebula pad, you can plug in an ADXL via UBS C on the back of the screen, and this has the same port with a sticker on it saying its for input shaping. So, I think it’s doable. I think it would have be outlined in klipper manually. Not sure if Creality has thought about this as a use case. Something I have to test.

We were all new at one point. No worries.@@Phelnok If you want to have that build plate texture, you can add it. It’s typically an image from your computer and you can select it when editing the built plate area options.

the -p 22 argument is superfluous. The default is port 22. I'm just glad you didn't use -l root. ;)

For the webcam I chose the MJPEG stream instead of MJPEG adaptive. With the adaptive it fluctuated and the embedded screen hide itself every time. Hope it helps someone.

With using the reset tool, would it be best to use right after installing the new firmware and before putting all the entries into the .cfg files? Then once complete and recalibrated reconnect with Klipper and add all of the entries, do any software updates, reboot and go. Thanks for the vod, great info and very helpful. This CR10SE is a next level beast. I just purchased it yesterday. For the first print i did the camera mount using ABS of all things. Surprising it came out pretty good.

Another question, I updated the firmware to the newest rootable version and installed the helper script. However ther is no KAMP install option and it was there on the pre-rooted install as in the video. Any idea why it's not on the menu?

awsome video Thanks, This is great i can now send file directly from orca slicer to the printer and lots of other good stuff, but i do seem to be encountering a small issue with first layes since i uploaded the firmare, im just not getting quite as enough squish on the build plate i can sort it by manualy adusting in fluid and then not performing calibration for my net print and its good after that but when i recalibrate it's just a fraction high again and build plate adesion is low. is there somthing i can adust in the printer config file to just get it to squish a little more after calibration ?. Can not get input shaping to function right after rooting. Also seems to only want to test the x axis and not y axis but doesn't really matter since it doesn't save any of the data. Very disappointed in Creality for not giving us all the info we need to make this fully functional. Their last update wrecked z homing so bad that rooting was my only option.

I installed and two unexpected things: 1. Fluidd and Mainsail already installed, maybe by the firmware update process? 2. I need to run self testing (it including auto leveling) again, otherwise, the print will be not be sticky to the bed. My default version was 20.

Hi, running ender 3 v3 se, keeps getting a failure to root it from the usb stick - it asks me to upgrade, i allow it, and than errors after half a minute, and ideas how to fix this?

Itll over write it but still let you “update” to .23 If you wanted it. Best of both worlds. You will still need the cable since the beds dont have ADXLs in them. You can always try to do the Y and let the ADXL in the head try to sense the vibrations. Kingroon does this. Might be worth experimenting. Otherwise, there will be a static Y measurement for input shaping.

Hello Everyone, I have rooted CR10SE and now the z-offset is set to 0 whenever I restart the klipper or shutdown the printer. Why does this happen and y after we run the calibration, it sets the zoffset on the fluid or mainsale interface and soon after the restart the zoffset changes back to 0. Also, I also am not able to use KAMP. Can you please create a short video to add KAMP. I am missing how to set it in the start gcode because after installing KAMP and doing all the steps, it doesn't start when I start the print, so I'm missing something could you please help???

Sounds like you are missing a few steps. You have to save the config in order for the z-offset to save. To double check after, head to the bottom of your config and check to see if the z-offset is applied there. You can follow the official instructions to install KAMP. I have it running on my SE just fine. Same as on the K1 and K1 Max. You must be missing a single step somewhere along the way. Make sure you added the right include to the config, make sure you added all the correct entries to your moon raker config. Check the KAMP config to make sure you uncomment the bed meshing feature. Finally, make sure you have a “BED_MESH_CALIBRATE, BED_MESH_PROFILE SAVE=default, and BED_MESH_PROFILE LOAD=default” in your PRINT_START Macro. Otherwise, it won't actually probe the bed or use KAMP.

@@3DPrintSOS thank you so much for your response,I am saving the config and then after restarting the klipper, soon after that the z offset is reset to 0, after calibration the new values are saved in printer.cfg at the bottom commented out, but in the probe section the zoffset is commented out. Here I won't be able to share the screenshot and I really need this to be resolved . Also regarding KAMP I have done all the includes as mentions on the KAMP documentation however, I am missing the print start macro 😊 and I have another printer ie; elgoo np4pro abd I have the macros in a seperate file but with the root , I don't see that included also no webcam.txt included in this so unable to change the resolution. The only issue I'm facing is the zoffset reset after every restart. Is there anyway we can connect and I can share the photos or video so you can diagnose. I'm a fan from India 😊 and need a Lil help here.

Just got this and my first layer seems to have either a flow issue or a z offset issue. First layer have gaps between the lines and its pretty bad because I cant manually adjust the offset. Currently I am using first layer flow of 110% to fix this issue. Wondering if I should root my device to get better manual adjustments but really new to this so kinda hesitant on rooting my device

Hi! Tnx for this video. After rooting I got an exception when trying to reboot Klipper with a message - Klippy not connected. EDIT: I also noticed that KAMP is not working correctly, bed meshing always meshes the whole bed, not just the print area.

Hey is there a way to only do bed level mesh and not have it run the auto z offset when I choose the calibrate tab on the printer and stuff? Seems the kamp won’t work unless I select calibrate. But if I choose that it redoes the z offset too and it always puts it too high. Then I adjust my offset and run a bed level test and the nozzle is touching one end and too far from the other. lol

i root my nebula an work amazing since i update the ui in the ./installer inside the linux manchine, when i install everthing fail, so y try to restore to fabric but now i can ssh to the linux machine to reinstall everything, i try to use this (Creality Factory Reset Utility:) but really not understand what i need to do, do i need to download to inside the linux machine (i lost the access)?

So I followed your steps exactly but when I installed kamp, enabled everything as you mentioned and did the printer.cfg I get a Klipper error. Says a file is not found for kamp and that the machine is locked till I fix the issue? I ended up having to remove kamp. But the root itself worked perfectly and I can use fluid and actually adjust my Z offset which is awesome! But any help on this would be great!

For anyone that runs into the issue of file /usr/data/printer_data/config/KAMP_settings.cfg does not exist. You need to change your include KAMP_settings.cfg to include KAMP_Settings.cfg, the s in settings need to be uppercase! Newbie mistake. Hopefully this helps someone!

Great question. You can use the machine as is with no compromise if you end up not using any of the tools. You can also always revert back. No downside. You will still get updates if there are any, although you’d have lose root if the update isnt a rooted firmware. As far as winning, the main few things are being able to use it with any slicer that has wifi. For example, Orca Slicer can be used wirelessly. You have full control down to the pins of your machine. Want to change a fan? Want to add a sensor. No problem. One of my favorite things though is plugins like KAMP or Fludd’s Timelapse features that now work with any 3d party camera. It just gives you all the tools the firmware has without being locked out.

@@acarrascoe You also get to use any USB webcam for timelapse and monitoring (though non-creality cams don't work for AI unfortunately) These Creality nebula cameras can be hard to find and take weeks to ship, totally unacceptable. :)

You can root both. The Sonic Pad comes rooted stock and the Nebula Pad has a community root. ;)

Went to Micrcenter today and picked up a CR-10 SE. I plan on rooting it this weekend, thanks for your advise and help getting us the access to our Creality machines we should have and need. I’ve heard you mention Bambu, you probably have an X1C. Don’t know if you’ve heard about the X1C firmware X1Plus but we are about to have full access to our X1Cs too!!! I dont believe the Ender 3 V2 Neo runs klipper firmware. I believe it’s running a Marlin based version just like the Ender 3 V3 SE.

Kamp was not showing up for me, so i went to the github, downloaded the files for the Kamp requirements, added the files to Mailsail, changed the directory in the Kamp_settings.cfg because i could not create a KAMP folder and it seems to be working. Clarification: I created the Kamp folder on my desktop, put the Adaptive_Meshing, Line_Purge, Smart_Park, and Voron_Purge config files in that Kamp folder then uploaded to the directory. Once i did that, it worked.
