it's been years and i still come back here from time to time to celebrate samantha groves for the extraordinary person that she was. i will always, always cherish what amy acker did with her. this video perfectly captures the breathtaking tragedy of her character. a beautiful mess. a self-made hero that never asked to be thanked each time she single-handedly saved the day. the episode of her passing is called 'the day the world went away.' i suppose it's because root was the world to team machine, and she still is so to us. her complexity is unmatched. i could only dream of one day writing a character as colorful, self-sufficient, and as full of endless depth as her. i will never forget her...
