My mom is a midwife and my sister is a doula, I’ve had all 4 babies at home. Your beautiful birth story reminds me of all the reasons I love having a midwife and being able to decide how I want my babies to be brought into the world. I love what you said about consent. And the “home birth dads have a lot of work” made me laugh. My hubby is a pro at the plastic and birth tubs. I love how pampered I get after my births too.

She’s so perfect congrats. I was able to do skin to skin with my daughter for an hour before they touched her. It was a very good hospital that allowed a lot of choices it was fabulous.

We had our homebirth of #4 on May 21th and the kids woke up as she came out (at midnight) and having them there in that moment felt wonderful. They all stayed within their comfort levels and asked questions and were so proud of their new sibling. I loved that part of the birth, even though the whole thing was wonderful!
