That was a really nice share! Your daughter really likes doing stuff, she is also quick to accept chores, bless her heart! Make sure she gets that opportunity to ride.. You can tell it will mean a very great deal to her. Try to do this sooner instead of right before she leaves.. so she might get to do it more often than only once or twice! It will be a lifetime memory she will always treasure!

Hey Roots and Refuge!👋🏻 Cheryl Morgner here. I’ve been wondering what sort of costs I may be in for if I attempt to dig a new well on my parents’ property to water the garden at the opposite end of the property from the house. And I know that every area may have cost variations. But would there be any way you could share if you guys did your own digging or paid a contractor to do it? The cost of the equipment and supplies, and how you kept them cost effective? Where you found the best deals? All the info you could share would be great! As it is now, my family property is about a an acre rectangle, with the house and plumbing on the upper end and the garden on the lower end beside a creek bed that doesn’t always have water running in it. And I have to haul 2 liter and gallon jugs of water to the garden in a wheel barrow when it needs watering. Would love any suggestions you could give me. The real issue is that it must be as thrift as possible. We truly don’t have free flowing cash flow. Thanks!

AS your getting ready to build you might want to consider what I am doing. I just had five acres timbered off. With lumber prices where they are at, I started pondering the old days of building with 1 x 6' s and thinking all the small lumber the loggers left could make a lot of 1 x 's and avoid buying lumber and plywood. Hopefully investng into a band mill.
