Never mind your Hendrix, your Brian May, your Jimmy Page, your anybody else, this man was and remains THE best live blues/rock performer of all time. Fantastic that you're showing a video from Belfast. My home town. Rory was born in Donegal, raised in Cork, but became the man he was in Belfast, and kept going there throughout the Troubles, when no-one else would set foot in the place. The guy is just a legend. I'm well educated, but I just don't have the words to describe the impact this guy has had on my soul. When things are going south, watching this guy perform brings me to a different place. RIP, Rory, your influence, your passion, your impact, your genius live on.

I can't believe I am just now seeing that you reacted to this particular request I made. So sorry I didn't see this sooner. I did do some traveling, but I am still shocked that I missed this. Great job as always reacting! I am so glad you enjoyed this Rory live performance!

This is a cover of the original Muddy Waters song from 1953. Rory was a huge Muddy fan and was a featured artist on the Muddy Waters London Sessions. Rory and Donal used Rory's Ford Executive to drive Muddy around London. Rory hung on to that car for years because Muddy had ridden in the car.

Hi Perk...this is from Belfast 1984, it was Gerry McAvoy on bass and Brendan O'Neill on drums. I saw this line up the week before in Dublin and he was really at the top of his game at this stage. Ted McKenna was only with Rory for 2 years, Brendan played with Rory for 10 years. There is a tribute band playing at the Rory Gallagher festival this June weekend in Ballshannon, Ireland (Rory's birthplace). They are called Band of Friends and Gerry and Brendan play in this band, obviously a tribute to Rory Gallagher!! Enjoy your journey and one small point, his name was pronounced Gallaher, the 'g' is silent!
