Now this is Rock 'n Roll. Rory gave it ALL on stage. No BS dancers and stage sets and pretty light shows! No lip-syncing and faking! Just all-out balls-to-the-walls music! Thankfully, there are videos like this one out there to remind us what REAL MUSIC, REAL MUSICIANS and REAL CONCERTS used to be like!!! Give it up one more time for RORY and the band!!!

1971... Frankfurt... 3 day fest on the river... Rod Stewart, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Nazareth, it was ok but kind of tired after a while... and then, on the third day when the sun came out in the afternoon, there he was onstage and it was like a sunrise! It was like everything that came before was just filler and now the jams really started. Where I was sitting it looked a lot like this vid but in the bright sunshine. Everything he played was over the top. The difference was he LOVED it!

I took four friends who weren't familiar with Rory's music to see him live with the promise that if they didn't like the concert I would refund all their tickets. They thank me to this day ! Nobody better ever !

This was just how he was... only a lot louder. So many wonderful, chilly August nights at the Reading Festival. He was at home with us. Thanks and God Bless Rory!

@leeroy75 LOL so true man. They were stunned at his greatness like everyone else there after the gig. That was worth it in itself :) Such a humble guy for being so great ...wish he was still around. He played Messin' with the Kid like the version on the Live in Europe album which to me is the finest version ever. I see ya like Freddie King also. You got good taste .

The best sound of guitar will be like this, RAW. Not nowadays punks with so many cheating gadgets to make their sound better.

This song was playing in background and just for a split second I thought it was MC5. Damn!! RG played blues hot, cold, heavy, fast, slow. I just love the Madrid show...

Rory, among others, was famous for his use of a treble booster with an AC30....especially in the early 70s.

I love watchin Gerry the Master in this song reading Rory. Im no guitarist, but i couldnt imagine trying to play bass to Rory's tempo being easy :D yet the whole band is so synched it's not funny.
@tonymerrington41025 жыл бұрын
Rory plays a guitar solo and the camera goes straight to the bass!

I saw Rory a couple of times in the early 70s at the Cleveland Agora. He would break a string and change it without missing a beat. Not easy on a Strat. Also, he started a song (I think it was Tattoo Lady) and the band was not in sync. He stopped the song and redid the opening.

Rod de' Ath. Yeah, he's superb but I think Gallagher's earlier drummer Wilgar Campbell was even better. See this same song live from Germany (The Beatclub sessions).
