His guitar solo ideas is endless you can tell his creativity was a way level up than many so called legendary guitarists you can tell when they are beginning to run out ideas on stage with recycled solo but this genius just went on and on and never bored you with the same licks

i stopped listening to Rory for years and years after he passed on, it was just too painful because i felt part of my life had died too when he left us. It is only in the last years of my life and the advent of these marvellous videos, now freely available on KZbin that i am finally happy to relive my days as a young man by watching him again in his prime just as I witnessed at the many concerts I attended. Thank you to everyone who makes these videos available, we are truly grateful

The great City of Limerick was never the same since Rory played this here, The fisher way out on the deep blue stop fishing and returned to port, tied up their boats, went home to wash and put on their best jeans and shirts and brought their wifes and girlfriends down to the savoy so they could meet and greet Rory and his boys to their town, Rory rocked this place so much that after the building had to have its foundation underpinned and re-supported. This explains the power Rory Gallagher

Got one of Rod’s drum sticks from Feb. 1976. Rory played 4 shows over 2 nights at the Bottom Line in NYC. I sat 3 feet from Rory’s mic. At the end of the first night, I stayed behind while the stage hands were cleaning up . I saw the broken drum stick and asked if I could have it. The guy just handed me the 2 pieces.

This is the best performance I've ever seen. I'm reading McAvoy's book and it turns out this is Rod de'Ath's first gig and first number with Rory, having been flown in at the last minute to fill in for drummer Wilgar Campbell. Rory apparently changed the songlist for more of a blues feel in these first shows and you can see McAvoy trying to figure out where Rory is going next. Simply incredible!

I wish the radio stations had played him more but hell as far as that goes they could play him on classic rock stations but I blame radio for the reason that a lot of ppl hasn’t heard of him, which is a disgrace in itself. If stations would have just played Rory once every other day (as incredible and so passionate, amazingly talented). There’s something special about the lead singer is also lead killer ass vocalist as well !! I was first introduced in early 80’s. I had to albums of Rory’s and my boyfriend (attn) loaned them out never to be seen by me again. Went thru a bit of very pissed stage. We’re talking 20 , 25 yrs ago. All in the past now. I know this, RORY GALLAGHER FKN KICKS ASS. Passion man with soul bunches of talent. I love 💗him cuz he didn’t give into the commercialization of the entertainment industry. He had steel balls and it was gonna be his (Rory’s)way or the freeway. Smart guy oh and Fantastic, Awesome, terrific, amazing soft spoken, humble, kind carin, common courtesy, a pure gentleman. So patient to( after I saw that one interview) damn. I would’ve give anything to see Rory live. Anybody see him live ? I confess. I have a crush ok . THANKS RORY THE MUSIC !!! Guy Incognito ........I liked his work with Cream but then things went downhill (or commercial). I lost all respect for Clapton after he made truckloads of money off a song about his deceased child! (Tears in Heaven). I only mentioned him as he also performed this. Rory on the other hand, continues to delight.
@p.m.gallows31997 жыл бұрын
Linda Jones can not stand Clapton! guy got sour whenever some one better came along (especially the Hendrix thing haha) the man believed he was god and yet there were tons of players 50x's better than he was. Iommi was (and is) a better blues player than he was!
@MCGSBro7 жыл бұрын
He was quite reluctant to release Tears in Heaven, but a close friend, I believe, convinced him. I personally prefer the Clapton version, but to each his own, I guess.
@RalliRock7 жыл бұрын
in all objectivity, Gallagher was the MUCH better song writer compared to Clapton. And his style was also much more richer. Clapton was the so called god for the (mainstream bluesrock) masses but he could only dream about writing songs like "a million miles away" or many others, Rory has written. I think Clapton is a nice guy, but definitely one of the most overrated guitar players (and especially composers) of all time. Let's be honest. Clapton was best as a cover artist. His own songs (with a few exceptions, of course) don't have that much value...at least not for me.
