The bass guitar is, in many ways, the most important instrument of all. Queen's rhythm section was brilliant which was why they were so good live

Yes, John & Freddie are driving it. I suspect that’s why John always seemed to hover bet Freddie when he was at the piano on stage. There were no ear pieces back in the day. I always smile when anyone of them discuss Freddie’s piano playing style Bc you know he go his hands whacked with a ruler by every piano teacher.

This was so interesting, it was so complex, the amount of work that must have gone into it, but it paid off. Queen were so ahead of the times they were trendsetters

Composing and writting the song was a long process for Freddie over a few years he went back and forth eith a couple of songs then combined elements of both and worked on that The actual recording tooks weeks over 6 studios!

There is a full version of this and this is the last section ( full or 3 section option) In the earlier part or 1st and second sections they explain more what the situation was at the time... Brian also explains ot was Freddie that wrote the heavy riff on guitar

I love seeing these type Queen videos. Please consider doing the Queen documentary done by Brian and Roger. Is This The Real Life. It’s a 2 part and they have a one part with subtitles. It isn’t affiliated with a news channel so you won’t have a problem with uploading. It answers so many questions and is the most informative since it’s coming from Brian and Roger. I think you would love it. I haven’t seen it in a long time and would love to see your reaction

Wow - this is as if I'm peeking over the shoulders of masters of their craft creating their intricate and elegant MASTERPIECE. I just loved every second of it. Great reaction! You have reacted to PART 3 of the full documentary which is called "Inside the Rhapsody". In the first two parts Brian and Roger explain what was happening to Queen at the time they decided to produce the song and how they made a VIDEO as a promotional tool which had never been done before. It's very informative and only a total of 15 minutes. In the video you will see John playing his bass right beside Freddie at the piano - amazing footage of what Brian explained in Part 3.

Fascinating show! Interesting how much influence John Lennon had on Freddie. Also how much influence The Beatles had in the whole band. Does Brian have any idea how amazing Queen was and the influence their music has to this day in the world?

Freddie could sing those high notes as well, his notes just sounded very different from Roger's high notes. Perhaps during this in the 70's when his voice was still developing it might have been an issue, but by the late 70's and 80's Freddie could definitely have sung those parts himself.

In the early 90s there was a TV show called Stephen King's Golden Years. At the time I was friends with a guy, Joe Taylor, who had a recording studio in the (I think) Tribeca area - and he was doing the score for this TV show which was produced by Mitchell Galin (TV show Monsters & Tales from the Darkside, movies Thinner, Pet Sematary, The Stand). Joe had Bowie's tape just like the one you're seeing here, to use for the series theme - and that track sheet was signed by Bowie. I was so thrilled to touch it. I figured these tapes are fragile over time - but I didn't know it was that delicate. This was back in 1991 - so perhaps that is in a museum now too. WOW. Always a great reaction Rory.
