k.d. Lang’s vocals are spectacular! So much control and her tone is mesmerizing! I’d swear that she and Wayne Newton are DNA cousins.

Thanks, Rory.. this is beautiful (she really sounds like the female incarnation of Roy!) but she has some great originals, as well... such a gorgeous and clear voice... appreciate your reaction, as usual!

The MTV Unplugged version is even better. She is amazing. She brings so much emotion to anything she sings.

I think 'ethereal' might be the word you're fumbling for. Out of this world; beyond beautiful; indescribable - all of those, and more.

My favorite version of her singing this song is live on MTV Unplugged--amazing voice control.

I love KD Lang! I love Elvis and Eva Cassidy, too. Amazing to me that you talked about my 3 favorite singers and your comments are spot on. I think you are a fantastic reactor with plenty of knowledge about music. All three of these exceptional performers make you "feel" the music and take it to another level. Thanks, Rory.❤❤❤

KD was known in Canada but this was her introduction I think in the USA.

She had a huge controversy when she spoke against eating meat. Here in Alberta canada where shes from is known for its famous beef industry. Shes one of a kind. Youre right, very reminiscent of some of Elvis’s performances

I can't tell you of another artist who got a 4 minute standing ovation for a song. Such a pure powerhouse voice. I'd have loved to have heard her do John Farnhams songs, You're The Voice and his version of the Beatles song Help. His power makes those songs incredible so I think k.d. woulda nailed em too!

There's only one KD Lang What a voice. What a range and a passion in her delivery. A really nice reaction, btw. You might want to check out a singer, Dimash Kudaibergen, who has a 7 octave + 2 semi-tones range, and sings in a multitude of genres. He is considered by millions of people to be the greatest vocalist on the planet. I think he may just be. Check out his performance of "Love is Like a Dream" and "Stranger" for starters.

The great singers can sing anything and make it their own. The best word to describe this is interpretation. Elvis was a master at this and KD, Eva, Tom Jones and a few more I could mention were no slouches either. We all know the songs its how you bring something different to the vocal to keep it fresh and interesting. Great reaction Rory well done.

I thought Constant Craving came out before Roy’s passing!! It was played so much here in the USA, you couldn’t get away from it.

K.D. is amazing. She can sing anything with such emotion. Roy would have been so proud of her. Eva Cassidy was also a beautiful singer. Songbird was out of this world. So ethereal. Sadly she was gone way too soon. And she probably never reached her full potential.

When they say 'household name' they mean in the U.S. She did have a big international hit with Constant Craving

Hey Rory! I love K.D.’s performance of this song on the MTV Unplugged better (she sings it with less of that country twang)… so I’ll be THRILLED to see that! SUGGESTION: I didn’t know you would do more-than-one performance of a certain song from the same artist?!? (Which is AWESOME.) SO… You REALLY SHOULD SEE K.D.’s performance of: “HALLELUJAH” At the 2010 OLYMPICS …It’s SO GORGEOUS! (There is ALSO a performance of K.D. doing “Hallelujah” FOR/IN FRONT OF Leonard Cohen while he sat in the front row - I don’t “think” you saw that one? …When she’s done singing, K.D. jumps right off the front of the stage to give Leonard a HUG.🥰) Anyway… I read that Leonard Cohen had been invited to perform the song at the 2010 Olympics with K.D… and he turned it down! (As a COMPLIMENT to K.D.) …Because, Leonard said, “The song is HERS now!😇
