Everyone who has commented about Freddie in his last year on earth said they never heard him complain about his situation and never wanted his friends or the band to feel badly or feel sorry for him. When he decided the pain could only be controlled by being basically knocked out all the time he stopped the medication and decided to just die. The philosophical songs Queen did always had a little humor or sarcasm or a positive feeling to them. Freddie probably laughed at something even when he was dying. 😊😔

I forget how great the album Innuendo is! Like you said, they do seem to be life lessons that Freddie tried to get across in later years. Thanks for the reactions, as always.

Innuendo was released in 1991 only a few months before Freddie died. Even though it says written by Queen, Freddie wrote it. He also wrote the Miracle. Brian mentioned that even though he was dealing with death, he had an amazing attitude. Just like the song A Winters Tale. Freddie wrote that while laying in bed in Switzerland looking out the window. That song was the last song he wrote before he died. That Innuendo album is amazing. It’s so full of Freddie’s feelings. God Bless him. He had to be propped up on the mixing desk either his mic and lasted as long as he could before having to leave to go lay down. They went to the studio in Switzerland because he wasn’t hounded there. The sheer strength he had to endure that incredible pain and still insisting on recording is admirable beyond belief.

Me again the reason why this is so important to me us the lines "when a storm is raging all around you, stay right where you are" is something my father would tell me,the exact words , freaky 😮

One of Freddie's most beautiful songs. His voice was still crystal clear although his body was failing. There are times when we need to be reminded not to struggle so hard, but to relax and let it be. Thanks for doing this one, Rory.

Penned by Freddie, advice from a dying man so close to death at this point,to his god children, his nephew and the boys and their children who he had very emotional relationship with. He had so much to say and so little time so he put most of it set to mucic xx

I was 23 at the time of this release, listening on my Walkman and lost in every translation of the music contained herein. So atmospheric, sad, joyful, soulful and angelic, it helped me deal with what was the inevitable, Freddie for a few years taking us on his journey since the miracle album, only really releasing us on Made In Heven, in ‘95, 😢❤ thanks Rory, you’re a refreshing gentleman indeed. Greetings from Cape Town South Africa 🇿🇦

HEY RORY! This is my all-time FAVORITE song, from my FAVORITE album. The lyrics - like many from this time period - have a deep meaning, and Freddie’s vocals are SPINE TINGLING.🥰

I do find this to be a special gem. It's light and dark, both lyrically and musically. Hard not to view anything Freddie sings through the lens of his journey because it really is a road map in real time (with the progression of his illness influencing the sound and choice of material that speaks to him).

Rory, you are right. A song was recorded in Freddie's last year of life and he was dying but still leaving us positive messages. Although after 33 years we still can't accept that he is gone ... Brian and Roger said that they can feel like he's around and they can sense what he would say ... ❤ But yes, Freddie, we are trying not to take it to the heart but it's so damm hard, darling... 😢

Freddie told the band he was sick during the miracle album but innuendo is definitely their best album since the game

It's clear to me Freddie's goal WAS messaging, i.e., leaving life lessons. . . for the young, Innuendo and The Miracle gives advice so beautifully, even alerts those who first experience leadership status...'don't bark out your orders'. Consideration of others is important.

The Miracle Album in 1989 Freddie nor the group were sure he'd be around at Christmas, so a few tracks on there are looking over life, and on Innuendo 1991 they put a few more songs looking forward and back over life for all of the group, and how much they had achieved personally and with the group. The Made In Heaven Album which has quite a few songs like Mother Love on, which released in 1995 was again Freddie knowing time was running out so left a lot of material they could use, although he had conditions, you can do what you like with my songs and image, just never make me boring

Please can you make a reaction to “There Could Be More Life Than This” by Freddie Mercury solo album. The one he sings by himself not with Michael Jackson, please it’s a beautifully composed song and a really great one. It’s remembered me the style of John Lennon compositions and messages. Freddie is showing his sensibility and his ability to make a simple but great song.
