Beautiful. Carmela is uncannily like a lower version of Rosa and they duet to perfection - though they do make the ending easier with a breath and a high note for the soprano!

I don't agree Rosa is deeper than her sister, it may be because of the technique development, but their voices in nature are the same.

As was said in an earlier post (by ioSonoCallas), they're singing in English. The Hoffmann duet, along with "Comin' Thro' the Rye," "Kiss Me Again," Dalila's aria, and a duet arrangement (by Rosa) of the final trio from Faust, were the usual selections the sisters used in their vaudeville act on the Keith Circuit. As Rosa Ponselle's biographer, I was fortunate to discuss their recordings with both sisters and with their brother, Tony (Antonio) Ponzillo, who also appeared in vaudeville.
