Thanks for that. I agree that the majority of yellows are not for everyone, and that includes me as well. I like transparent yellows. You posted the video just in time for me. I have some Rosa Gallery paints in my basket waiting to be bought. I have golden yellow, magenta rose and cerulean blue. I think I will replace magenta rose with madder rose. I will also wait until you finish the series to see what else I can try. Your videos are doing a fantastic job representing the colours from different companies. Their colour charts are a bit useless when it comes to that. 😊😊😊

It’s so nice to see you back! Rosa has added PY 150 as a transparent yellow ( they call it Aureoline) but it doesn’t show on their color charts. They are just such nice paints at a very reasonable price even imported to the US.

Swatching might be the most relaxing thing in the world. I made a swatch sheet of my Grumbacher Academy paints last night, and it's an absolute wreck. Looks like I'll have to do another one. Oh darn. 😁

Love seeing your swatches! Pw4 is typically called mixing white and it's a cool white. It works best in tinting other pigments slightly.

Yay, Swatchmaster Jay is back! I don't have any Rosa Gallery paints, so let's see if I get tempted by this video. EDIT: after watching the video, I'm possibly tempted by that gorgeous Cadmium Yellow, but in general the paints seem quite opaque. In making small swatch cards for my own palettes, I've started noting the ratings (via the symbols) for transparency, staining and granulation - as well as the pigment code. I find this helpful in getting a better mix of transparent paints and not using too many that are only semi-transparent. I'll be looking forward to the blues when you swatch them, although I probably have way to many already. 😅

I've not tried Rosa watercolours. But I think I'll like them because while looking up on their web site I see that they include a rating for (Cheeky Warning)* "Frost resistance" (which is "above 0" by the way). I can't say how many times I've been let down by the likes of Daniel Smith or Winsor & Newton for their callus disregard of not including a Frost Resistance rating on their products (/Cheeky Warning). * Sorry, but find that occasionally I need to put in a "Cheeky Warning" in some of my comments.

hello jay! lovely video! i am really curious about rosa galleria. im sure they probably shared something in common with nevskaya palitra. they have some pigments that were common to white nights paints until they pulled out the non-lightfast pigments to more permanent ones, like the carmine pr170:1. i think coral too probably has the same pigment list.

I curious, shouldn't it say PR254 in madder rose? I can't seem to find any information about pigment PV254

You might be right there but Rosa list it as PV254 on all of there literature so I just went with that.
