I think it shall be as good as the fresh one. It may become more soft and crushed after cook. I have 2 packs of cooked chestnut and would like to try this recipe tomorrow.

@@Madcap118 I’ve tried the recipe today and it was a huge success! Eventually, I put the cooked chestnut at the end instead. Highly recommend you mix in the chestnut after everything is cooked.

This rice dish (Takikomi Gohan)can be made without chestnuts and still be a delicious.
