Not sure why this is still called the Grand Floral Parade? There is nothing floral or grand about it. It is a perfect reflection of what Oregon has become - DEPRESSED. Where are the FLOATS? There was minimal financial support from PGE, NW Natural Gas, Fred Meyer, Reser's Food, Nike, etc. Most of the bands were from out of state! The Centennial Band were wearing old t-shirts - looking like they were ready to help out at a car wash. Where is the pride in Oregon? This parade reflects what Ted Wheeler has done to the Portland area. Oregon and Portland are collecting MILLIONS in tax dollars and to say thank you and support tourism, this is it?

Why is the parade route still cut short? It diverts people away from the city and we need to bring tourism and families back. I was downtown for the winter night festival and it seemed pretty safe.

@@PastelStrxwberri I went to the Portland water lantern festival in Laurelhurst park and it was safe. It's actually pretty safe in most areas.

I thought the RF did a great job, on this years parade, eventhough the floats are smaller and the parade route is cut in half the Fun and pageantry is STILL there!!!!

It was great to see how long it lasted this year! My only complaint was that the Portland high school marching bands are all or mostly gone eg Grant, Jeff, Lincoln etc. They were a huge part of the spirit of Portland at the parade in the past and brought out even more people with all the friends and family that would attend. I don't buy that it's a lack of funds (some schools are wealthier and all have fundraising) so what happened?

@@dev0luti0n As I said, I don't think that's the issue! They already have the expensive instruments. Do you have any thoughts as to why the Portland high schools are no longer marching but the suburb schools are? Asking in earnest. My friend and I couldn't figure in out.
