The most amazing thing about Rose isn't the things she has to overcome mentally, but the transparency with which she does so. I'm convinced that most, if not all, fighters in MMA - and champions in particular - have to deal with their own mental obstacles - but most hide them and deny them and when losses happen, blame other things. Rose's strength isn't just overcoming obstacles. It's also sharing the reality of those obstacles in real time and allowing all of us to follow along the journey with her.

@Ricardo Leonardo idk, figgy looked abnormally happy after being dominated in that 2nd fight. i can kinda see why some people think the fight was fixed. i just think that huge weight cut finally caught up to him, but it was still odd how figgy jumped up on the cage like he was celebrating the way the victor often does. i wanted moreno to win but i wanted them both at their best when it happened, that was pretty disappointing.
@Jack_803 жыл бұрын
@Mike Scott that was not figgy at his best. that weight cut finally caught up to him. yes moreno improved, but that's not all it was. just like ortega vs korean zombie wasn't all about ortega improving. zombie didn't do much of anything, looked a lot like figgy in his last fight. it happens more than it should because a lot of these guys cut too much weight. i don't even like figgy, but anyone who thinks that was him at his best is just blind or too biased to admit it.

@ron stone5 JJ bought rubber tits after Rose beat her and the tanning helps quite a bit but no one is turgid for JJ with her Nightbreed moment against Weili engraved in our minds. You say Rose looks like a man but there are men that are totally passable until you see them walking around flopping their hoagies to and fro in their sweatpants, so, no, you are wrong no one is ever accused of being gay for sleeping with a woman. You on the other hand, apparently, will settle for "looks like". 1) Rose is such a nice girl, sensationally sensitive, perceptive and self-aware. 2) It's a perfect storm of coaches and influences. Rose has finally hit her stride. Skills and guts all rolled into one. 3) That left high kick shit works. My only headkick KO was via left high kick...in China. 4) Goddamn she can play piano!!!! 5) Most girls weaponize tears to get their way. Rose uses it like a catalyst to transmute herself into something harder and more durable.

The most inspirational person I've ever had the pleasure to watch and listen to. The most true, genuine, honest, beautiful human being just being herself and allowing others insight to her pain, fears, tears, growth but most of all her amazing heart. Win or lose, you are a champion of champions Rose!

When you have lived through childhood trauma, it effects you every day of your entire life. The person you were supposed to be, dies the moment the trauma starts, and you become something else....and have to accept that forever. Just because she is a professional fighter, doesn’t mean some random public brawl can’t set her off. Fuck those people that had the balls to claim she was bullshitting. You think its fun going through life, when anytime there is violent conflict or even potential violent conflict, you either erupt into hulk mode like a maniac, or freeze up feeling like you’re about to die at any second? Its AWFUL! Most people like Rose are dead. They turn to hard drugs to get through and wind up dead. So let her fucking be a cage fighter, and tolerate her honesty about who she is, and how she feels. Congrats! When a bus you’re on gets its window randomly smashed.....you get over it in a few minutes. Not everyone is so fortunate. Some people get wired differently, of no fault of their own. I’ve had PTSD since I was 15, and now I’m 43. I didn’t even know it until I was in my 30’s.

Well said. Very well fucking said. I’m 48 and still can’t escape all the trauma-not just getting spooked but seriously traumatized. It defines you forever-but finding ways to get past the shit feels so good. You expressed this so damn well. Unlike this amazing woman I took the dark path you speak of here-for too long. Always loved UFC/MMA, but just started training heavy this last month. And the peace and feelings of strength and joy are indescribable. Not because of a wish to commit violence upon anything...but the confidence that comes from knowing that I’d finally be able to give someone or something ever trying to destroy me again pure hell for a change. When you said that we don’t know if we’re going to go full Hulk or cower...or maybe even both, I cried like a child. That’s the worst part. Fear taking the place of “normal” control and coping. Heavy heavy stuff indeed. I apologize for the emotional dump-PLEASE know that you have also helped me. I don’t do support groups or medications, that’s not my thing is all, NO DISRESPECT to any that do. ⭐️ But reading this one amazing thing by someone who knows apparently exactly what this shit is like was beautiful. No “excuses” or poor me shit-that’s as debilitating as the original fucking event...& believe you me I fell into that pit before as well...you said it as it is for me, stone truth. Bless your heart. GRATITUDE. I’m printing this out and putting it up on the wall behind my heavy bag. And if you don’t “counsel”, you should. I got wrecked by a step sibling physically and emotionally at age 3. Then traumatic brain/skull injury at 35-been subjected to headshrinks and pharmaceuticals from hell...And nothing has ever been said in my whole life that struck me like this. Unbelievable. Thank you again. Absolutely profound. 🤘💪
