The more I watch this scene the more I get the feeling that when Jackie tells Rosanne she’s not doing that again Laurie was also telling her she’s not doing this scene over again and nobody can make her. I don’t think Roseanne was supposed to react like that and I have a feeling (I can’t prove it) that they had to do the scene several times cuz Rosanne was breaking character. This is pry the only take they could get with Rosanne not entirely laughing. It was a pretty heavy scene cuz of Laurie having to constantly yell. It sounded like she was getting a little hoarse. Having to do it several times probably really frustrated her so that’s why when she told Rosanne she wasn’t doing it again she genuinely meant it 😂

Laurie had 20 minutes to learn this dialogue and work out the scene. There was a quick rehearsal and one take. You can see Roseanne crack at one point because she’s seeing this for the first time. Laurie won an Emmy for this exact scene.
