Usually there's a year or so between revisits so it doesn't really get noticed, but then sometimes it's almost like they get stuck doing the same material in a loop every couple of months. It's odd, but I imagine with such a niche subject it's hard to come up with constant new fresh content.

As a former german Firefighter, I can tell you that cheap steel toes are even more of a hazard than no steel toes at all. Eg.: cheap steel toes have a great chance to deform and act as a "blade" when run over by cars. They will either cut your toes off or cut into your feet.

These shoes cost $20, here in Taiwan. They all do. These type of shoes are sold under dozens or hundreds of different generic brand names. They are all between $15-$20.

Yeah I really don’t think his videos are geared towards working men they are geared towards people like himself; hipsters who like to wear boots to look like they’re working men but wouldn’t know the difference between an impact driver and a drill. They like to look blue collar while never having worked a difficult job in their life. The African troopers they just made with Jim green are a perfect example of that. No one in their right mind would ever want barefoot work boots it’s an oxymoron. Not to Mention they’re hideous but that’s besides the point of they are completely unpractical for any work setting. But that’s because like I said, these videos are geared towards hipsters who have money to buy multiple pairs of pacific northwest boots while never wearing a single pair to work in.

I bought a pair of these in the past and they’re even worse than you reviewed. I got them as a lightweight/light duty work shoe for the finishing stages on renovation jobs ( trim, painting cleanup) so bending, crouching and moving around would be easier when I need less protection. As soon as you crouch in these the inner liner of the steel toe deflects and locks down into that shape, pinching the top of your foot and it’s doesn’t return to form when you’re back upright. So damn uncomfortable. The outsole also has ZERO grip and you slip and slide everywhere. They also aren’t certified for Canadian work shoe standards so they won’t even pass if a safety inspector comes by

I said the same thing on the Walmart boots video, but these could be fine for those office jobs where you spend most your time at a computer but just because the nature of building you work in everyone is required to wear steel toes but you don't really need the protections and just want them to be comfortable. But at that point their are so many other options that can do that same thing for you.

Never saw the original posting of these, but I bought pair for work a while back because the were cheap, and they fell apart in less than a month. Sole was coming off, the insole fell apart, there was cardboard or some kind of paper material coming out of the inside of the shoe, and the tread was gone super fast, but that’s what happens when you work outside at an airport.

My oldest pair of shoes is one of those but mind have a steel plate as the mid sole and not Kevlar like the new ones. I have some of the new ones as well. I use them for Mowing the lawn as I do not care about ruining these and I do not want to ruin other shoes or boots. Edit I was calling the lasting board the mid sole my bad. I agree it is not wide if I wear them for too long I can get a blister on the side of my big toe.

Nobody holds any western European country in high esteem for their steel toes which is like saying "uhm, yeah dude. This is European bread." Or "Um, yeah dude. I've been watching your videos for a couple of years, and I was all but convinced that a pair of Dr. Martens was a bad move. Well, I bought some and they are easily my favourite piece of footwear I've bought in a long time. I think a key factor is that I went with their Greasy leather, which is corrected or something but not heavily coated. Sole construction aside, I'd be interested in seeing what you think of their non-coated leathers like the greasy, crazy horse, and the so called Pascal full grain.

I think basically the only kind of job where footwear of this concept might remotely be a good idea is maybe for a shelf stocker. A job where you want something lightweight snd breathable, but might occasionally drop something that would definitely hurt enough to ruin your day but not cause an actual injury. I don't think anybody with such a job should buy these, but a lightweight very breathable shoe with minor toe production might make sense if it was of any quality.

I am not an expert on safety shoes, like, I don't have certifications or so. However, I've used safety shoes and they're not all the same. For example, some soles will dissolve when some desinfection liquid is used. The shoes I used weren't flexible - not only did it have the toe protection, it had a steel plate in the sole. Not just that, the fabric wasn't breathable, as it had to protect the user from certain chemicals. The company I worked for provided these shoes for free. You could also replace them for free. I think you only were asked questions if you replaced them more than 3 times a year. I don't think anyone will allow you to enter their site using these "indistructable shoes".

I bought these 4 yrs ago off amazon for like 30 bucks only to use the rare time i "need steel toes" on a job site that is already the type of place you could easily wear sneakers in but alas its 2024 and over-safety BS is the name of the game basically everywhere. The only thing i needed to worry about it a box of supplies, paint can or tool box falling on my foot. They're ok for that (they have a weird footbed that isnt the most comfortable so I wouldnt wear these 8 hrs a day 5 days a week as your foot will be screaming) but thats about it. And when theyre new they smell BAD. they need to odd gas lol.

If you bought a pair of these, looked at them and then decided their claims were true rather than instantly returning them, then I wouldn't trust that person to do any sort of work at all. This is the modern equivalent of those items you used to see in small adverts in the back of newspapers back in the day, promising all sorts of miraculous features.

I used to have working sneakers from Puma after my feet would get destroyed in basically every work boot due to weird feet or something, the Pumas were really comfortable. So comfortable that I often ended up walking the dog in them and such 😂 So if I ever need a working shoe again, I will be getting a pair of Puma. Have you ever reviewed those? I did called into the managers office once tho. He was convinced I wasn't wearing working shoes and that this was unsafe. I showed him the shoe and the toe and all, and then he made a note that Puma makes working sneakers 😂

A shoe like this would theoretically be good for some sort of warehouse work I suppose, and the biggest offense in that case is the fact that these are literally just 25-30 dollar shoes off Aliexpress with a logo printed on the insert and then marked up at over double the price lol.

Last time somebody tried to wear a pair of tgese he was denied entry and had to spend the shift in the office as a gofer. The next day it was a pair of cheap Chinese steel toe leather boots.
