I bought a 5 ton Task Force Electric Splitter about 15 years ago from Lowes. It has been great and splits just about anything.

Thanks for the video. I was having SO much trouble deciding on what to buy. After this I’m sold. 🏆

Watching from South Africa/Mpumalanga Provice. Well done . I always prepare for winter months, 'cause here in my area is pretty cold in winter months.

Great splitter. After watching all the 5 to 6.5 ton splitters, this Bilt Hard unit seems to be the one I'd buy. I would probably pass on the stand and just make my own and add a log table to catch the split pieces. The price is the same as alot of 5 ton units so it's a no brainer.

Wow. It works really well. Mine is a Ret hard.

Oak is easy, especially red oak unless at a notch or twist. Try some elm for a good test.

How do you check the fluid? I can’t figure it out.

You have to tilt the machine on its side, then unscrew the dipstick/fill.

The big question is how long is your extension lead and thicknesses of cable?

Not sure if you mentioned. Can it stand and cut vertical and horizontal?
@OldSoulMillennial7 ай бұрын
I would say it can only split in the horizontal position.

@@OldSoulMillennial i can split about five peices of wood sometimes more sometimes less and i'll go to turn it back on and soon as i do the motor won't kick on you can just here it humming and i'll press the start button multiple times then it will finally kick on then trip the breaker
@OldSoulMillennial2 ай бұрын
@@bradleybrown7801 Unfortunately, I’ve developed the same issue. Here’s what you do. Before starting the motor. Push the hydraulic lever down, and then start the motor. It seems like there’s a hydraulic pressure divert issue. No where for that built up pressure to go, thus it overwhelms the motor start capacity. Give my fix a try.

In my 45 years of splitting firewood with a hydraulic splitter, I have found "straight grained" oak, ash and maple to be very easy to split with some crotches being a challenge. Now that I burn very little wood in my seasonal cabin, I split it all with wedges and a maul. The REAL test of any splitter is American Elm and I doubt an electric 6.5T splitter would be satisfactory. As always, the right tool is needed for the right job.

I don’t know anyone who burns American Elm for firewood. This is a great splitter for its purpose.

12:30 "Let me flip this around... let's try right here see what it'll do, alright could not go through it that time. I mean at the end of the day this isn't a 27 ton splitter..." 😆That looks like you're abusing a tweezers to shave a yak. Neat for if you don't fancy swinging an axe to split smaller limbs and kindling. If you need a full size electric log splitter for those full rounds the Swisher LS22E can do it and has a bonus feature of emptying your wallet 😁 at 10x the cost.
