A splitter table on those units is a must have. Keeps the splits from falling on the ground so you can re-split the larger pieces without having to bend over and pick them up from on the ground. Also, the ram face is smooth on most of these splitters, which in my opinion can be dangerous when a piece of wood slips off and goes flying. The bigger ones have some kind of teeth or serrated face on them to eliminate that from happening.

I bought one last month. I use a c-clamp to hold the power button in the on position and a foot pedal to control the power. Wish the wheels were bigger to make it easier to pull in the yard. It works great for me!

Hi, great video, I have the Mitox LS65x Electric Log Splitter 6.5 ton Electric 2200w which was £269 back in 2019 and looks almost identical. Interesting that the Bilt only has the black log support only on one side of the splitter, the mitox had it on both sides and I think you may find that a bit annoying as big logs may fall off with that support on one side only. Other thing I’ll be interested to see is whether you like the stand. Mine came with a stand but I took it off as I found all the lifting of logs on and off a bit annoying. I now work on the ground with mine with knee pads and find it a lot less tiring. Maybe an ingenious old soul designed splitting table will make me change my mind! 😉 The mitox I have is a great bit of kit and I’ve had no issues. You have to top up the hydraulic oil obviously from time to time and you’re right about ensuring you use a correctly rated extension cord otherwise it will cut out. Occasionally in hot weather the thermal cut out activates and I have to let it cool off but it is a great bit of kit and you can split logs when you get in the rhythm in no time! My one tip is print and attach a label to remind you to open and close the breather screw, as it’s easy to forget this.
