It’s wonderful to see the beauty of Tokyo through the eyes of an English speaking visitor. I watch several Japanese podcasters simply because their quiet esthetic is very soothing, one of which is also a garment maker. I’d love to see these fabric shops you were talking about, too. As much as I love to watch your sewing videos, it’s great to mix things up occasionally.😊

Amazing! Cross stitch is where I started my crafts journey so it's a nice blast from the past for me seeing this! ❤ A temporary move to Japan has come up in our household conversation, but we don't speak the language. Have you managed to learn enough to get by? 😊
@RoseryApparel
@RoseryApparel Жыл бұрын
Yes we’ve learnt a little (and I mean a little!). We both took 3 months of lessons two days a week, and have been studying on our own as well for about a year. Matt’s better at speaking it then I am, but I’m a little better at listening/understanding so we are a good team! We understood some wait staff talking about us yesterday which was interesting and slightly off-putting 😅

@Rosery Apparel that's so funny! I'm bilingual so my plan for when that happens is wait a while then reveal I understood, almost like a scene from a movie 😂 p.s. I started the Daisy dress today and I'm loving it so far 😍

Thank you for the loveliness you share! One thing I'm curious about is how it works with the language? Are they good in english or do you know japanese? /Hanna
@RoseryApparel
@RoseryApparel Жыл бұрын
In Tokyo a lot of people can speak a little bit of English and there are often English menus and signage. We are going to visit more rural places in a few months though and apparently it’s not as easy if you don’t speak the language. We’ve both been studying Japanese and can get by with what we’ve learnt so hopefully we will be alright 🤞🏻
