It amazes me that you can get this much fabric or even the sheets from the op shop for so little. In Canada a queen size bed sheet is about $8-$10 at my local value village. It’s too bad. I wish I could pay $3 for the ones I find

Love the op shop with me vlog, you found some good stuff :) :) I find that as well with op shopping and vintage shopping you have really good days and not so good days, once I went into two op shops and only came away with a book, but on the plus side it was a book I have been hunting for :) :) I also find vintage shopping a bit overwhelming as the ones in the city are so big, I tend scan the areas areas I like and sometimes I hit gold and sometimes not, as awhile ago in December I found 4 vintage skirts and a tshirt that actually fit me so was super happy with that and it was my best vintage find yet :) :)

Hi Janelle, thanks for this video. I love op shopping for fabrics too - so much fabric for just a few dollars! I recently picked up a couple of almost full "boards" (not sure what to call them, those by the metre thingies for lace and trims) of lace - one pink the other white - for just $3 each! Great for shabby chic pillowcases and tablecloths. I'm still using the stash of fabric I bought at Spotlight in Launceston earlier this year. It makes me happy to work with fabric I buy on holiday or even when out on a day trip somewhere. It's amazing how much pure cotton fabric can be found in op shops. Great for making scrubs - there's been a BIG drive for people to make scrubs for health care workers here in Vic. I label mine as being made from vintage or reclaimed fabric if that's what I've used so people can choose. Your sewing room is just beautiful. I'm afraid mine will never be so pretty or neat but I love it anyway! I'm always intrigued to see your latest fabric choices and what's tucked away in your stash. Your sewing videos are always inspiring and encourage me to get sewing something other than masks and scrubs. Thank you ♥

The Spotlight near me has nowhere near the fabulous range of fabrics as your store seems to have. Only about 1/6 of the store is dedicated to garment fabric. I've got a few very nice buys there but the range is not the greatest. I've recently bought some very nice fabrics from various online stores, but I do prefer to see and feel the fabric in person before buying. I got some really gorgeous linen blend with fine grey stripe on cream with little white dasies on it which I was thrilled with when it arrived, from Drapers Fabrics Melbourne, great price too 😊

Hey fellow Canadian! I actually looked up Manchester to see why they call it that and it turns out it’s because in the 18th/19th century most of the cotton fabrics were made in Manchester England so when they arrived to different countries they would be known as “Manchester goods” and I guess it just got shortened over time 😃 always cool to learn something new!
