Tip for Dymo tape longevity: Stick Dymo tape on top of some Tamiya tape (with the Tamiya set back a bit from the edge) and you can use each length many more times as the Tamiya stays tacky for longer.

Looks a great tool, but I can only find them from between $30 - 80 USD! So I'll use the cheapy one (same one you had) until it breaks - just buy another only 15 quid or so

Yeah, but it's wood - you could reshape the handle to make it more ergonomic with some sandpaper.
