I broke my neck a year before Christopher. He was my hero as Superman, and he is my hero still today.

It's amazing how good he still looked especially after what happened to him and how upbeat he was and his amazing attitude. It's sad because you can hear the ventilation machine in the background, he couldn't even breathe on his own 😢.

He'd only been paralysed for 3 years by that point. Living out the 9 years that he'd spent paralysed took quite a toll on his appearance. On top of losing some of his hair.
@dmer-zy3rb9 ай бұрын
@@c.syde65 his hair had nothing to do with the accident. the man had alopecia and already wore hairpieces since the 80s.
@c.syde659 ай бұрын
@@dmer-zy3rb I know. But losing his hair certainly helped contribute to him looking older than he otherwise would have done. And if he hadn't had the accident, he definitely wouldn't have aged as quickly as he did.

Love the guests Rosie had on her show. Christopher Reeve was such an inspiration. The best part is Rosie actually let’s people talk without interrupting. You can’t find talk show hosts like that anymore!

How beautiful and a shame that we haven’t made more progress on exactly what he was speaking about … roles for disabled people just cast as regular everyday characters - normalizing all of our different abilities. On screen. Representation. Beautiful interview.

Robin Williams was once asked about his friend C.R. He immediately dropped his comedian act and said that C.R. is perfectly capable of managing his own life. After C.R.'s death, his wife died of cancer. My heart broke for their young son.

Yes. Will's an ABC correspondent, Matthew's a filmaker, & Alexandra's a lawyer. The 3 orphans just sort of "kept shuffling, stumbling, & bumbling" after the death of their parents!

What you’re feeling is compassion, and it would be worrisome if you didn’t feel that way.

Yes, so true!! Chris & Dana, ya know.......they made a double-hasty beeline for the exits! It's a good thing that he died first, becz' she kept him going. Without her, he probably would've been put into an institution!

I’m happy for you, was it a car accident? Most common reason for spinal cord injury.
@ReesieandLee Жыл бұрын
@@matthewmcdonough5601 well since I’m special (🤡) I simply fainted in my driveway and landed with my head against the house and it shoved my chin into my chest really hard and snapped off a piece of C4. Such a stupid simple fall changed my life and the lives of my family forever.

It's a daunting thing when your physical body dies and your spirit remains cognizant and sharp. It seems to awaken the eternal spirit within us, making us realize that we aren't only these temporal bodies that are destined to die. We're eternal spirits made in our Creator's likeness. This physical life is like a classroom preparing us for the next place. Christopher and Dana are in that place now, along with billions of others. ❤
