Elizabeth is wicked and selfish… jealous…Delmelza in Season 1 episode 8 Sacrifice her health & self and their child’s Julia life to take care of the Poldark whole family during their sickness for Elizabeth to seduce Ross just because she new he had lingering feelings from the past which he was confused about but afterwards he committed adultery he realized he was really in love with Demelza and just idealized Elizabeth.. his true love is Demelza and just admired Elizabeth and once he obtained her he discovered who he really wanted and couldn’t bare to lose and that is Demelza, an imperfect but deep, everlasting, pure and true love… I love Ross saying in front of Elizabeth that Demelza is the love of his life and Demelza on her sick bed waking up saying did you come to take you and Ross responding no my love she can never take me… Later in Season 2:5- 9 Elizabeth play games to get Ross attention thinking it will make him chose her over Demelza but all she gets is a one night stand because Ross acts in a moment of weakness and anger angst George marrying Elizabeth but never thinking about the consequences but afterwards realizing that Elizabeth was just an affection from the past Hugh was just someone to fulfill a temporary void because Ross had deeply hurt Demelza and caused a temporary gap in their marriage… trust had to be rebuilt and their love tested

She is selfish and was jealous of Demelza yes - and if you remember, she was also rather pissy (and VERY vindictive-reference Osborne) with Morwenna for getting along so well and having fun with Geoffrey Charles. But she is also a coward. As Demelza confronted her (about the night Ross got Elizabeth pregnant) and hit the nail on the head. Elizabeth could never make up her mind. She did not have the conviction to tell her mother that she WOULD speak with Ross after his return from the war, she wimped out again with George. Elizabeth owed Ross the dignity and honesty. But as Verity already told Ross: ....and the next moment she noticed Francis' mine, position, and whatever else Verity observed. In today's day and age I would say she is a materialistic calculating ditz - an utter airhead, conniving vixen and a sore looser at that (just like George). She depended on her looks to get her way, and thought that made her special. She was a spoiled brat. As Ross already said to Caroline Penvennen in the Coach ride return from London to Cornwall - Elizabeth was born to be admired. That's all she was good at. He needed a wife who could dirty her hands (remember Demelza ran the mine while Ross was in London) - in other words someone competent with survival skills. Elizabeth would have NEVER been able to strategize things like getting Pasco Bank to survive by paying monies in, nor would Elizabeth have been suggesting to Ross some other survival strategies as Demelza has over time. Demelza was going out on the water to fish for food etc. Elizabeth was a missy goody two shoe. Would she have made herself useful had she been married to Ross? Would she actually have been happy or made Ross happy if she had been married to him? Maybe, but who knows? But yes, I found myself a tad resentful toward her as well. Especially when she played the "poor me victim" expecting everyone else around her to make the decisions for her (how convenient) because if something went wrong, it was perfectly convenient to blame THAT person for the wrong. The only decision she ever made was the coverup of Valentine being that of Ross. And that she made for very selfish reasons - though I have to say there I can't blame her. She did not, however, HAVE to construct the coverup. All she had to do was marry George the month earlier (as opposed to later) but here again she was waiting for Ross to make some sort of a decision (to what? Leave Demelza???). And again, she "could never make up her mind." Shame on her.

I’ve been watching this Show and it gets on my Nerves not saying I don’t LOVE ❤️ because I DO…..That ENTITLED Elizabeth and that Weasel, she’s married to cannot stand them and waiting for the DAY He FALLS to the ground and I hope it’s 6 feet under before I Get to the End…..

The cheating f ed up the storyline, lost its credibility after that, the main storyline was the fight against George, it shud have stayed that way without killing off Elizabeth
