I changed my Stainless 92 lever to a large loop. It didn't go anything like this take down did. Getting the bolt back in was a sob!!! Did everything right and it still constantly hung up and would not go in. Finally after about an hour it popped in,still do not know why! Also the ejector set up is a total rube goldberg design with that little collar that you have to push behind the small supporting strut, while you are holding onto the bolt with a dummy round? Really? WOuld be better if you had three hands!🤔. OMG, what a nightmare. Unless there is some compelling reason to break this down again. I won't be doing it any time soon!!🤪 However, the video was the only thing that saved me!! Well done and thank you!

I realize that this video is 5 years old, however, my Rossi 92 stopped extracting fired cases yesterday...It's been working fine. I cleaned the daylights out of it,, re-oiled it and it still doesn't work. It seems to only pull the spent casing partway out...where do I start troubleshooting it? Is it the extractor or the ejector? It seems to load the rounds just fine. I hate to order parts I don't need.
@myrossirifle3 жыл бұрын
It sounds like an extractor problem, the ejector flicks the round out of the rifle but if the fired round is not being pulled fully out of the chamber then it sounds like extractor. If the round was being pulled fully from the chamber but then just laying there and not being flicked out of the rifle I would have said extractor. I know you say you have cleaned it but just double check that the "claw" of the extractor is clear, no gunk or debris behind it which could stop it from contacting the rim of the round properly, cheers and good luck.

Hi, check these 2 things, the little bolt pin is not all the way flush to the side of the bolt or the bolt pin screw is too long, take the screw out and try the rifle, if it cycles its the screw, if its still locked up it will be the pin not all the way flush, the pin HAS to be flush, cheers.

That helped tremendously, thank you. So now I’ve got a new issue for you Rossi rifle Jesus, I can’t get the hammer and trigger to slide in together. The hammer will get pushed too far deep and the trigger will get locked forward, I’ve been trying the way you’ve shown but I’m at a loss. Thanks again
@myrossirifle4 жыл бұрын
@@nickdalton886 Hi Nick,ok so this one can be a bit tricky, you need to hold the hammer in the "sweet" spot whilst you push the lower tang in, the only thing you could do is a "light" bit of gunsmithing. Push the lower tang assembly into the receiver WITHOUT the hammer, is the lower tang really tight to push in ? If so you can see where it rubs or is tight where the alloy is marked by contact with receiver, you can remove some of this tightness and loosen up the lower tang which in turn will make it much easier to have the hammer in right place, little and often is the key, you dont want a sloppy lower tang, it should still be a snug fit, failing that its keep trying, you do have to hold and guide both hammer and tang otherwise the hammer will get pushed out of position by the tang, there's nothing wrong just keep trying, cheers.

Well done mate! I have just bought one of these today, It should delivered to me within the next fortnight. Do you have any tips for slicking up the action? Cheers, Tom
@myrossirifle7 жыл бұрын
Hi Tom,thanks for the positive comment, if your rifle is new then it will come with a few burrs and some razor sharp edges in the receiver and all moving parts so if you are confident enough, take it apart, file all sharp edges /burrs etc and replace the ejector spring, this one spring is the main offender for tightening up the action and propelling spent rounds into the next county !!Anything else you do IE replace all springs will be a bonus, but if you only do 1 thing, change the ejector spring and see how you Go a tiny smear of grease here and there will help too, welcome to the world of Rossi and just for the record, mine shoots just as well as more expensive rifles, cheers. PS dont take apart unless you have a spent round to reassemble.
@tomsmith54837 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply. The 92 I have bought is second hand and supposedly in mint condition so I figure it's probably never been taken down. I guess I just have to wait and see. It does not have any safety's on it so it must be an older model. I have been reading that the loading gate can be a weak spot ( the gate itself actually breaking off) have you heard of this and is there a fix? I liked your SKS vs steel plate vid. I've had one myself for 3 years now and it's more fun than a barrel of drunk monkeys!!! I'm steadily making my way through your vids. They are great, thanks for your effort. Cheers, Tom
@myrossirifle7 жыл бұрын
Thanks again Tom,yep I love the SKS,great rifle, the loading gate has been known to break ,however, ive never had one break, i think the reason could be that to adjust the gate so its softer to push the rounds through you can take it off and carefully bend it, I think some loading gates have been excessively bent by who knows how many different owners and hey presto,metal fatigue, and it breaks, so if it feels ok to load through, leave it alone and hope it hasn't been bent back and forth by previous owners, cheers.
